I listened to this book and the second book. Very original and entertaining. Good writing. The narrators are terrific. The sarcastic inner voice of the FMC in Book 1 is hilarious. Unfortunately, that spirited voice is gone for most of Book 2. So, as much as I loved all of those things, I can't fully endorse bullying/abusive relationships portrayed as romance. I listen to plenty of dark romance and generally enjoy them. Something about these books pushed my buttons in a way others haven't. Please pay attention to the trigger warnings for this book (especially book #2) and heed them if needed.

OMG, Yaaaaaaaaaassssssss! I LOVED this and can't wait to pick up book 2! Hercules is a GIRL!!! And is heir to Hades and Persephone, not Zeus! Give me more! And as much as I don't like people controlling me I LOVE the controlling, toxic tropes in dark romance . . . What does that say about me? ???

Blood of Hercules takes a fresh and humorous spin on Greek mythology, diving into a world of Titans, Spartans, and immortals with plenty of action and drama. The main character, Alexis, breaks the usual heroic mold — she’s more exhausted than brave, which adds a relatable and funny twist to the story.

The book’s world-building is creative, especially with its mix of mythological elements and a high-stakes war academy. However, some parts feel uneven, like the sudden friendship between Alexis and her mentors Achilles and Patro, which happens without much explanation.

The writing style sometimes leans heavily on slang and questionable choices, especially when it comes to how different characters and backgrounds are portrayed. The idealization of abuse is also troubling and takes away from the overall enjoyment.

Despite these flaws, the story is entertaining and kept me hooked. It’s not a perfect read, but it has enough humor and unique twists.

This book was a little confusing with so much Greek terminology being thrown at you in the beginning, but I the hang of most of it. However what I didn’t understand is how the hell those kids were left alone in the world after what happened with their foster parents. That is so fucked up!!! The rest of the story was really good and I’m excited for the second book to come out soon.

Poorly written stalker obsession. You can't even call this romance. Aside from the names, there is nothing recognizable from Greek mythology. The MC just lets things happen 99% of the time, and she acts like she has no agency. The 2 male "interests" are cruel for no reason, and there is no build-up. You hate them from the get-go at the end it feels gross. Wish I dnf-ed.

Really enjoyed the story and looking forward to the next book, but almost dnf’d the audio book. The female narrator was great for the FMC and female characters. The male characters she narrated for I found so difficult to listen to (read annoyingly slow!) and the chapters with the MMC’s POV’s were very minimal so male narrators weren’t heard nearly enough. Not enough Teddy or Aiden.
Duet narration would’ve made this a 5 star book and listen.
