Not awful writing like some of the genre, but not a great story by any means. I like the author's other books much better. Child sexual abuse is not really anything I want to read in a romance.

Wow, what an ending! The only reason this didn't get five-star is cause I was missing the connection with the characters just a little. But boy, oh boy, this was amazing. So so dark. Honestly, some chapters are stomach churning. The relationship between Galantia and one of the lead males is super toxic, hot, but yo, toxic.
The worldbuilding was good. Especially when it came to the Ravens, I was always fascinated with their customes and the unique way the shift is done. Very good.
I can't wait to read book 2, I'm so glad this is a duology, I feel like one more book is just enough for the story to reach completion.

I highly recommend it to anyone who loves dark fantasy romance.

Think I found a new favorite author ? I need the darkness, the teasing, the not stuck up your butt type of romance that makes me gag. This and the other series are dark, twisted, not lovey dovey which is hard to find. Even other authors that try to be dark start out strong but by the end of the book they are teenish lovey dovey and boring. This kept it alive til the end! Love LOVE LOOOOOVE IT! Can't wait to listen to book 2!

First off.....it's so gross and once again Liv has gone so grossly over the line that I just couldn't do anything but laugh...I mean this in the best way I loved every minute until the very end by that time you will question your sanity ? Raw, gory, sexually violent, but a great read. I love how the female lead isn’t waiting for a man to save her virtue, she knows thrown into a political mess made by those around her, she’ll have to make brutal decisions in hopes of not just surviving but making sure she’ll have her next meal.
