Ok. I absolutely adored this. The energy balance between the woman and the man was done so perfectly. None of the two was too powerful or too weak. Socially or in gifts and rank within the story.

Only once did I think the intimacy language was unnecessarily rough - it would've worked better if softer langues was used in this particular story - I think. But I really enjoyed this.

I really liked both characters and thought the world building was pretty good (could have been better) but I really liked the relationship between the two mc’s and the personalities of most of the characters. would recommend to others

Loved this book, great worldbuilding and interesting characters, enough spice and worthy conflict to get me really invested. I read this as a standalone and have just realised it is a prequel to Blood and Steel and Vows and Ruin which is great news for me because I *need* more, especially of Wilder! I have seen that being a prequel others may want to consider reading it after the other two as from what I understand I will go in with more knowledge than the author intended and I may miss some of that cliffhanger angst built in the other books, whether this is right for you or not should guide your decision.
