Author

Liv Zander

Liv Zander is the author of the Pale Court duology. She has an unhealthy love for sexy villains, a topic often covered in her therapy sessions. To fund her co-pays, she's writing deliciously dark fantasy romance about the men who would burn the world to the ground for their women. When she's not joking around, she can be found in her office with a mug of coffee or a glass of wine (depending on time of day and how the writing is going). It was ok. To be honest I’m not sure how I got through the whole thing. I kept thinking “gosh I hate this” then continued listening. The ending was very beautiful and I listened to the last chapter 3 times. This was probably my least favourite book (ever) but I’m glad I read it.

    Wow was that dark…
This is not dark in a cute and quirky kind of way either. This is not for the faint of heart, I cried for hours reading this book to the point I almost stopped reading just to save myself from crying more. But I kept reading and it was worth it- the ending is fantastic and I really recommend this book.

Oh and one thing that bothered me probably more than it should have… the amount of times they said “arse”….. like I’m sorry what??? Who talks like that. So weird.

Great enemies to lovers, captive trope! As the story developed I grew fond of both characters. There’s a lot of spice early on but there was also enough of a story to keep you entertained. I think I will continue the series to see what else happens.

Book 2 was giving a very Corpse’s Bride feel and as weird as it should have been it wasn’t and I got so into it I didn’t want this series to end. Their story is really quite short in retrospect but I would definitely recommend if you’re into deliciously dark reads!
