About this audiobook

The stories were all wrong — Hook was never the villain.

For two centuries, all of the Darling women have disappeared on their 18th birthday. Sometimes they’re gone for only a day, some a week or a month. But they always return broken.

Now, on the afternoon of my 18th birthday, my mother is running around the house making sure all the windows are barred and the doors locked.

But it’s pointless.

Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.

NOTE: The Never King is a reimagining of Peter and Wendy. Characters have been aged up for this darker, grittier version. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy The Never King and the Lost Boys. You can expect hate kissing, fighting, bickering, and ‘touch her and I’ll unalive you’ vibes. Book one ends on a cliff.

I like the book so far but the guy narrating bash sounds horrible. His reading is so slow and stops/pauses at places in d sentence that just make him unbearable. Who ever thought he would be a good narrator i will never know. Sorry for the negative feedback but his "sexy" voice sounds like he has a heavy tongue. Not sexy as all. Lol

I loved the narration of Peter Pan. He made it worth listening too, But just like Wendy in the original Peter Pan I found Winnie annoying and why can’t we get some older more mature FMC’s. I get tired of all the barely 18 year old FMC.

Definitely one of the more fuxk up books I've indulged, but I was definitely here for it. I'm hoping for more world building in the next book, but I enjoyed the characters and dailogue between them. This was my first reverse harem book, so I wasn't sure how I would feel about it, but the godess of Nikki St. Crowe wrote in a way that the reader feels all hot and bothered in the best way.

If you need some mindless spice in your day, 10/10 would recommend.

    Quick Summary:
The women in the Darling family have been broken for generations, on their 18th birthday they are taken by Peter Pan and returned after days or weeks later. Winne has become the most recent Darling to be taken and in order for Peter Pan to save Neverland he has to find what the original Darling took from him. Winne is no stranger to seducing boys at her high school but the Lost Boys and Pan are a different breed.

What I liked about this story:
I was not expecting spice, at all! A dark take on a childhood favorite story that seems to be alright. The book is definitely a quick read but not what I was expecting.

What I didn’t like about this story:
There were definitely a couple of parts that seemed to drag but mostly I can not stand cliffhangers. I know this is part of a series but I wish the author would have wrapped up the whole book before moving on.

    Loved Vane…

The narrators were a huge miss for me.

This book definitely won’t win a Pulitzer but it quick and fast smüt with little to no plot. If that’s what you’re looking for then you will love it.

(This is my same review for the whole series)

    No thanks!
If you like a great idea executed with minimal story and the only character motivation is ?, congratulations this ? is for you.

I would give it one star but I'm adding a star for an interesting idea that was somewhat well written.

But i hit nope at the first ? encounter cuz it was ⚠️.

I really liked the concept of this book, but I felt like I needed a bit more world building in Neverland. I didn't feel like we got very my character build but I'm excited to hopefully get some of that in the second book.

DNF, I feel like it could be a good, it has the premise of having a good plot but it just falls flat. FMC is kind of odd, she is kidnapped and doesn’t really care and wants to sleep with any guy in reaching distance.

Half porn half story. If you’re looking to spice up your sex life than listen to this with your partner, or by yourself. No need for videos. Very detailed and the expansive use of dirty sex talk throughout makes you wonder if there’s an actual storyline here. But tucked away every so often the story is told and is a good one. The story plot itself is worthy of a book, but would be so much more worthy if there was more of it and less porn esp minus the constant dirty talk. I think the author does a great job on both ends but not together. Not to the extent she takes the sex. It loses the story and at times becomes just straight up dirty porn. She would do great if she separated the two and just wrote either porn or fairytales with sex on a normal level with some respect for the main character instead of as a whore. Treating her so cheaply diminishes the entire story. I wanted to quit this book so many times thinking I just can’t listen to this anymore, but I really wanted to know how this story progresses. It ends on a cliffhanger regarding the main reason for the story, which makes you want to read the next one only to hopefully get more story told.
The narration would’ve been great if the people who were designated as the specific characters read their parts throughout. It seems when the chapter switches characters that chapters character changes his or her voice to play the other people in that chapter instead of who is actually supposed to. The voice changing from chapter to chapter between characters and who they were the chapter before seems obvious and distracting. Makes it hard to figure out who is talking sometimes. The person assigned to be each character should read their entire parts throughout the book not have each other do it. Ok so I’m on to reluctantly listen to the second book.

This is my 3rd reread of the story and first audio and the narrators truly enhanced the experience. They were phenomenal on top of a super intriguing story

I liked the narration, it was the reason I finished this book, however entire story felt underdeveloped, it had so much potential but it was just meh…and FMC was annoying ☹️

I love spice but this was super cringe, flat, and just terrible writing. The author also confuses the twins in different chapters, making it confusing and further feeding into how the men all feel like carbon copies with a slight twist. Tried to be fair by seeing the whole book through but by the end, I wish I had my time back.

The book itself is okay. Spicy but no real plot. I think the voice actor for Pan and Winnie are good but my god no for the cas and Serb. They are depicted as strong masculine men but yet the voice is very effeminate. No issues with gay guys but don’t make a straight character who’s supposed to be broody and ooze sex appeal have less masculinity than the one who voices Winnie...

This whole series is just fun. The full cast narration is fantastic. Yes, there is a lot of sex, but the storyline is interesting and the endings leave you racing to the next book for closure. I really enjoyed the twist on the classic Peter Pan story. Overall, if you’re looking for something to pass the time enjoyably, this series is worth a chance.
