Fun book and I am enjoying the graphic audio version of it. It reminds me of the old time radio broadcasts of storytelling. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

A lot of the words didn’t match up, like the narrator was making stuff up or intentionally leaving things out. A lot of filler stuff between characters talking is left out, which i understand could be unnecessary with the way it’s done but still makes it hard to keep up in the actual book. Other characters voices were mixed up several times. Iathan would be speaking but it would be with hunts voice. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I simply loved it from beginning to end. Yes, I won't deny that it was too long, but from the middle of the book on, I just couldn't stop reading, and I read it very quickly. I adored all the characters, and I loved seeing Nesta and Az. And overall, I loved the entire story. I don't know if there will be another book, but I would definitely be happy if the story continues. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

It took me a while to read these over 1000 pages, and honestly, I feel that it didn't meet my expectations. It's not that the story is bad, but I was expecting much more romance; the protagonists never convinced me, although several secondary characters motivated me. Among secret passages lie the great truths, a revelation that will change the course of history, a protected lie, and a glimmer of light lurking in the darkness: hope.
Between action and discovery, the characters navigate winding paths: fear, desperation, and longing hide within the feelings of the protagonists, their emotions driving their decision-making, exposing and revealing their true selves.
The plot progresses at a dizzying pace, where action is the main equation and its characters are its complements, weaving the threads of fate and challenging the truth of an oracle. As if it were a math problem, the characters seek a way to solve such an enigma amidst battles, disputes, conspiracies, alliances as fragile as walking on glass.
The protagonists are well-defined yet variable; every step they take represents a new transformation, a step forward or backward, which is how I define the emotions of these characters: flaws and virtues.
Sarah J. Maas has not only crafted a book of fantasy and action but a world corrupted by greed and power, with hope as the guide to victory. They say hope is the last thing to be lost, but what if we lose ourselves in it? What would happen?
(...) In a world of darkness. How much are you willing to give of yourself? (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Simply marvelous. The two years of waiting were completely worth it. I laughed, I cried (yes, by page 30 I was already emotional), I suffered, I felt a lot of nostalgia watching how the characters from both sagas interacted, and ultimately, I felt so many emotions that made me develop a very special affection for this book.
Bryce's personal growth is incredible; in the first book, we could already see glimpses of what she would become, a true leader. Her relationship with the characters is astonishing, how she thinks, manipulates, and is always two steps ahead. An extraordinary protagonist, who, like anyone, makes mistakes, and that makes her even better, more authentic.
I have especially loved Hunt and Ruhn, two brave men who have suffered more than most could bear, and yet they keep going, capable of doing anything and going wherever needed to help the people they love.
The story itself is stunning; in its more than 800 pages, things keep happening, it keeps you alert and glued to the book because it is full of unexpected twists, long-sought resolutions, and characters with secrets finally revealed; however, it creates new ones that make us wish for the next book to come as soon as possible.
If I had to point out any "flaw," I would mention two specific characters who, every time they appeared in their respective points of view, ended up worsening a situation that was already bad; it's true that they end up making some sense, but I have the feeling that more could have been done with each of their potentials. But this is nearly insignificant in a book full of good things.
There are so many things to discuss, like the rest of the characters, how she teaches us about the world, the stories within other stories, and how she connects them with her other sagas and all the references there are.
It has been an impressive work, and I hope that Sarah J. Maas's next book, whatever it may be, answers the questions left open in this one. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I don't know where to start.
I loved it; I didn't get hooked at first, but after the first part, it starts to get really good, and well, from the middle to the end, it's something else, very, very good.
I can say that Danika, by protecting Bryce, was a terrible friend; it's not like she lied about the name because that would have been too much.
The characters were great, but the surprises that happened, well... it was like one character was the dad and another Spider-Man, things like that.
I think the ending, while being top-notch, didn't hit as hard for me because I got a severe spoiler ? but that ending ?? honestly, I'm glad I read this book late because waiting so long for the next one, no, I wouldn't have been able to. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Sarah does not disappoint, especially with that epic ending. January, please come soon, I need to know more!!
I love the relationship between Bryce and Hunt; they are an incredible couple. A spectacular chemistry that doesn't let you lift your eyes from the book. Their spicy scenes leave no one indifferent, pure passion ❤️?
Bryce is a queen and an amazing protagonist; I wish I could be like her and have that strength and bravery to do and face things. Not to mention the wit she has when arguing her ideas or coming up with any excuse. And Émile... ❤️
I adore Hunt. He has lost so much throughout his life... he deserves a good life after everything he has been through.
I have loved Ruhn; in this book, we got to know him a bit more, and he is another incredible character. His friendship with Dec and Flynn is the best; Sarah is really good at writing friendships. It’s necessary to know more about his relationship with Day.
Ithan!! I have grown really fond of him throughout the book. And the goal he has set for himself, I can’t wait to know more!
I already liked Tharion from the first book; I’m very curious about his future... that move is risky.
Cormac surprised me in a good way. I thought he was going to be an obstacle throughout the book.
The issue with Danika... I have mixed feelings. I loved her friendship with Bryce in the first book, but I think she kept too many things hidden. I understand she wanted to protect her loved ones, but it seems excessive to me at the same time.
The discoveries about the asteri... I was blown away! The last 100 pages are non-stop; you need to discover more. Bryce’s perspective is perfectly understandable.
I hope time passes quickly; I need to read about these people again soon!! (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Tw: slavery, violence, death, mistreatment.
What a great book for the gods.
At the beginning, I didn’t understand anything (because of the prologue), but as the story progressed, I began to understand the reason for the prologue.
There were characters that I really didn’t like and others that were simply a tremendous plot twist (I won’t say why, it would be a spoiler lol) and some that felt wow.
The plot in this book was wonderful, as well as the relationship between Hunt and Bryce (it was so sweetly hot). We saw more of both, and I think it was important.
This book has plot twists throughout its story, which makes it much more intense.
Its characters, its story, its development make it an excellent book.
And I urgently need the next part of the saga, that book cannot end like this *c desperate* the ending really leaves things in a bad way, but well, what can you do? (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I finally finished this book, and I only took a long time because I'm in college, because I have reader's block, and because I was reading it with my boyfriend ??
I don't want to say too much about this book, just that it is a perfect continuation of the first one, that I love the characters in this saga so much, and that Sarah continues to impress me with her plot twists.
I don't know how I'll manage to wait so long for the third installment. (Translated from Spanish)1 person found this helpful

Hello! It's been a long time since I've done a review, but I think this book deserved it.
I really can't say much about the plot of this book without making spoilers, because Sarah created it in such a way that EVERYTHING connects to EVERYTHING.
Anyways, I'm going to tell you only what I felt while reading it.
First of all, I want to clarify that it is quite a heavy book, almost 1000 pages, with points of view from several characters, with many things happening at the same time; Sarah gives us information on every page. I’m not going to lie, it got a bit heavy at times, which is why I took my time to read it, but Sarah knows how to transition from one page to the next and leave you totally knocked out.
Having clarified that, in this book the author perfectly developed the balance between fantasy, love, friendship, action, and mystery that when I finished it, I could only say, "What did I just read?"
The CHARACTERS, guys, throughout the book, there are 5 main points of view, and occasionally Sarah gives us the perspective of one or two more.
There comes a moment in the book when the POV changes are quick because there are many things happening at once, but she develops them so well, with such marked personalities, that you get to know them so much that by that point, you don't even hesitate to know whose perspective you're reading now.
The bonds are so real, without being forced; their friendship grows naturally, as does the love and trust.
She makes you go from hating them to loving them, from shouting at them to wanting to hug them. Bryce is one of the best protagonists I’ve read in my life.
Now let’s talk about the wonderful WORLD she created, so intricate, with so many species, angels, fairies, wolves, merfolk, shapeshifters, demons, gods. How she organized them into houses, brought them from other worlds.
When you finish the book, she did everything so well, so logically, that you don’t doubt for a second that they are out there, perhaps in another universe.
The MYSTERY is the finishing touch, how the characters search for clues, find culprits, discover things about their government, their past, their origins, always something to solve, Sarah always has something more hidden, something bigger, that leaves you with more and more intrigue. And when they solve it, you just want to dive into the book and scream, "WHAT JUST HAPPENED???"
And people, THAT ENDING, THAT ENDING NOBODY, AND I MEAN, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY SAW COMING.
A book that filled me in all the most beautiful ways, and left me with a void that only the third book can fill.
Once again, thank you Sarah J Maas for showing me why nobody dethrones you from the position of my favorite author. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I just want to say that for me, any book by Sarah J. Maas is a win (I haven't read Throne of Glass yet, but I'm 100% sure I'll fall in love just like I did with ACOTAR and CM). Also, anyone who hasn't read them doesn't know what they are missing because it's T R E M E N D O with all the letters and dude, that final please Sarah write the third one already ?? Despite the fact that it took me a while to get into it, it was worth every bit. This book was magnificent! And the ending? Oh my God, what a way to close it. My favorite characters are there, and new ones joined that I loved wholeheartedly, but Ruhn has the absolute throne, and of course Bryce and Hunt.
What will the next book bring us? Everything was so epic and full of revelations, I'm going to die in the next one!
*As a tip that may enhance your experience, I recommend reading Sarah's previous sagas which are: Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses, especially the latter before you read this book.* (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

-------- Spoiler Alert -------
This book is amazing, like the previous one, it hooked me from the first chapter, although the prologue threw me off a bit. I loved the first chapter, seeing how Hunt's relationship with Bryce develops.
These two have incredible chemistry from the first book, and it only increases as the book progresses. Ruhn is an amazing character, and getting to know him is fantastic, just like his friends.
I love how the plot has been handled with this group of friends, but I've also loved each of them individually.
I just can't deal with that ending; I still haven't gotten over what happens with Hunt and Ruhn. I simply can't wait to see how they resolve things because otherwise, I don't know what to do. I think if you've read this book, we all loved the final line and who appears in this book—simply spectacular.
The extra scene with Hunt and Bryce at the café is great and filled with the chemistry that this couple has accustomed us to. Honestly, I can't handle Danika and all her secrecy that you slowly uncover. And discovering who Agent Day is—just wow.
In conclusion, I loved this book, and I'm eager for the next one to come out so I can read it. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Again, I can't give many details because being a second volume, I don't want to spoil anything.
Honestly, I was going to give it a 4/5 since I felt that the first was slightly superior to this one until almost the end. BUT THE END, PEOPLE, THE END!!! ?? The ending made it a 5/5! It left me super happy and excited.
I NEVER expected this from Sarah (oh my, I love her??) It left me speechless ??
Now I just have to wait to see how Sarah is going to continue after that tremendous ending. I don't know how I am going to wait for the third one... ⚡ (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

"House of Sky and Breath" is the second volume of the City Halfmoon saga, an urban fantasy that has me hooked.
In the first installment, the protagonists were Hunt and Bryce, although we met many interesting and promising secondary characters. With their romance underway, they cede the spotlight to both familiar characters and new ones, although the couple's role remains extremely important, especially that of our half-fairy. The plot thickens with each new secret revealed, and Bryce is unable to let it go.
Love continues to hang in the air, not only for Bryce and her angel, but the political plot also gains strength. The rebellion becomes significant, and it's essential to overthrow the Asteris. More secrets about the late Danika come to light, complicating the lives of the characters. What the wolf knew is of such importance that they cannot ignore it, regardless of the risks to their lives.
The novel is full of discoveries, secrets, dangers, and betrayals. It's very exciting, although there are many open fronts with the spotlight shared among several characters, each with their own story. And then there are the past secrets that come to complicate the plot.
The first book was full of almost moments between Hunt and Bryce, but in this one, their relationship becomes solidified, leading to quite a few sexual encounters between them, some with a humorous touch. It's not that they are bad, but I was more interested in the rebellion plot, so I found some of them unnecessary, though not the development of their romance.
As usual, the last two hundred pages are intense and keep us on edge. We want to know what will happen to our characters, as things look bad for some. The final chapter left me surprised, but in a good way, with the appearance of characters I didn't expect to find in this saga. In fact, I had to read it twice because I thought I was mistaken, but apparently I wasn't. I'm eager to see where the author is going to take us with this new path.
I really enjoyed the book, although I think I liked the previous one even more. The world is well-created, the characters are well-defined, with complex stories that keep the interest. The author may be keeping too many open fronts; perhaps she should have focused on fewer plots, but I am confident that she will develop all the stories in the future installments of the saga.
The first part was more or less closed off, although much was still left to discover. But this second one leaves us with characters in a very precarious situation, and others about to get into trouble, and we don't know how everything will end. We have to wait, but I'm eager to read the third installment. I'm going to be left without nails until next year.
I almost didn't start this saga, but I'm really glad I decided to. I encourage you to give the saga and the author a chance. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

It was hard for me to start reading it; I think the beginning is somewhat slow and tedious, many things happen, and we get points of view from many characters, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. By the two-thirds mark of the book, it becomes more exciting; we understand more things, and the characters are better developed. We understand their values and how they complement each other, which is fascinating. We can better understand the structure of this world; there is still so much to explore... and that ending! Sarah always gives us epic endings, and this one is no exception. I shouted, literally shouted, with the second-to-last chapter... I would like to say what happens in the last third of the book, but that would take away the excitement for the other readers, and that's not fair. "I love you. I wish I had told you more. But I love you, Quinlan, and... Our love is stronger than time, greater than any distance. Our love encompasses stars and worlds. I will find you again. I promise."
By Solas, this book made me scream, laugh, cry, and pull my hair out... It destroyed me, rebuilt me, and tore me apart again to make me scream like crazy with that last sentence before the epilogue...
This book has been sublime, and I don't want to give spoilers, so I will make a quick review that basically pleads that if you like ACOTAR, you should read it, if you like ToG, you should read it, if you love the goddess Sarah J. Maas whom I pray to, you should read it. If you read the first book and were amazed by it, you have to read this one period.
This book is clear and unequivocal evidence that a great epic fantasy can be created, where everything is connected in the most intricate way, every single event past and future woven so finely that it blows your mind. Seeing how the character that appeared in a few chapters in the first book is alive and guides every one of my great goddess Bryce's steps because... LONG LIVE THE QUEEN and it's not a spoiler... not yet hehehe.
For me, a fantasy in every sense must have a world full of layers to discover, and every time you uncover one, it blows your mind: ACHIEVED
It must have plot twists that make you gasp for air and scream: ACHIEVED
It must have a romance that does not eclipse the fantasy itself, if there is romance (it's not essential): ACHIEVED
It must have characters with a strong and marked personality, who contribute important things to the story all the time, where the morality and the boundary between good and evil doesn't lead the reader to believe, so fine that crossing it is as easy as turning the page: ACHIEVED
Its main plot must unfold little by little, be a tug-of-war, a game of distraction, not only for the protagonists, but also for the reader, where nothing is ever certain, where the bad side could be the good one...; ACHIEVED
Having villains who are bad in their very essence, who firmly believe that being this way is not being cruel, it's just being what they are. A villain who only does bad things is not a villain; a villain is born a villain: ACHIEVED
That the subplots are as interesting as the main plot and that they nourish it, not being separate paths, but roots of the same trunk and that even if it seems otherwise, they are vital for the whole tree itself: ACHIEVED
And most importantly, having a high, regal goddess protagonist to pray to. That literature changes and is no longer about a knight in shining armor saving the kingdom as the chosen one and having a woman/object to save and turn into his queen. That now women take the central role, the spotlight, without needing to put the man in the shadow, because her being THE QUEEN does not make the rest her subjects. And this, ladies and gentlemen, Sarah accomplishes with the wonderful creation of Bryce Quinlan: ACHIEVED
This book meets all the essential requirements to be one of the best reads of this year because it is sublime and because immersing yourself in this world requires the guts that Bryce has, because it is a world that seems endless and top-notch, and I LOVE THAT. Alright. I didn't love the book. I think I prefer the first one more. I felt like the whole book was spent describing things that weren't very important, and some characters still don't sit well with me. Maybe it's because I've been reading a lot of Sarah J. Maas lately, which makes me lose the surprise of her charm.
But...
The last chapter had me screaming like a madwoman. I think my neighbors thought I was being killed. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

It is worth every moment you open it and savor its pages, filled with intrigues, passions, and more mysteries.
I would fall short with any review I might make of this book.
Absolutely and irrevocably astounding. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

The book is quite good, but I do have to say that the first part seemed to have more intensity; this part is more like an explanation of what has happened before and what may happen.
Still, I liked it a lot. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I would have given it a higher rating, but I wanted to read it before the year ended and I read 450 pages today. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

4.5 ?
"Someone who listens. Who thinks before acting. Who tries to understand different points of view. Who does the right thing even when the road is long and difficult. Who gives a voice to those who do not have one."
Oh, fu? mother!! Sarah J. Maas has me so living with the reading!! We can crown her as the queen of plot twists: that ending, OMG!! This second book of the Crescent City saga starts with engagement right from the beginning and I warn you, it's not slow, it's dense, because if we thought that in the first one Sarah had already marked us with the halo of this story and where it could go, nope, by the gods! What a roller coaster! New events unfold, more branches open up in the plot, we no longer only have Bryce and Hunt as main characters, but more characters begin to take center stage, the world expands even more. It's insane, I don't know how everything is going to end, I'm stunned and shattered. The challenge we face for the third book! But what dimension is this story taking, what is coming next? I won’t deny that I’m scared. But let’s focus on this one, what happens:
Now Bryce tries to adapt to her new reality while attempting to fix things with Hunt and build a serious and stable relationship. Umbra Mortis enjoys its newfound freedom and Ruhn is trying to regain trust between them. The peace doesn't last long as they get caught up in a rescue/investigation mission involving some rebels and ruthless fairies who won’t hesitate to destroy them if they reveal their affiliation. To top it off, the Autumn King wants to marry his daughter to the future heir of House Avallen. As the worlds clash and the Houses of Crescent City seek to seize power, betrayal and danger lead us to the queen's court ships, the seven levels of hell, and the solar system of the planet, while reluctant alliances are forged to prevent the Asteri from taking control.
And what happens? Danika. She comes into play again. Her secret life, full of mysteries and people Bryce never knew. I admit that every time something was revealed, I didn’t understand why she hid so much from her if she was her best friend. I love the friendship and the #foundfamily they form with Rhun, Declan, Flynn, and Ithan, who joins in this adventure. And Rhun, this guy is gaining points more and more. I love his personality. The relationship that develops with Agent Daybright captured all my attention, for revealing her identity, although it wasn't hard for me to realize who it was.
Aidas! This character doesn’t leave my mind, I missed him in this part. There's so much at stake. Tell me, what will happen to us until the next book arrives? (Translated from Spanish)
