About this audiobook
"An uplifting, feel-good, romantic read." —Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis
After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable. While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame. She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important.
Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people. Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she can’t just give up the joy she’s found with him either.
With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his?

I love Daniel - Alexis has the worst parents. Don’t even get me started on Neil, I’m glad he works some stuff out but still don’t like him.
I was heavily invested in this story until the last ten minutes. Immediate pregnancy just gives me the ick, I understand our FMC is closing in on 40 but sheesh it happens so fast. Personal opinion don’t come for me. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

When Alexis Montgomery gets a tow from the hunky mayor of the small town of Wakan, Minnesota, she didn't intend to have a one-night stand. But Daniel Grant, tattooed, ten years younger, and watching a goat for his best friend, is kind and the sex is hot. What starts off as a casual relationship might become something more, but Alexis and Daniel are worlds apart - she, a successful ER doctor with a family legacy in the hospital in Minneapolis and so rich she's never had to peel a potato; he, the mayor of this small town and a legacy of his own, but too poor to afford the family home he rents out as a B & B.
This read suffered a lot for my own expectations going in. I'd thought it was part of a different series, and "one-night stand to relationship" is one of my least favorite romance tropes. The writing style is light and breezy in a way that usually doesn't draw attention to itself. Jimenez addresses serious topics of domestic abuse, but both Daniel and Alexis frustrated me as characters and I thought the third-act breakup was unbelievable and out of character for Daniel especially. The chapters go back and forth between both their points of view and there's a lot of talk about the sex being great, with a few open door descriptions. All in all, not my favorite read but solid enough to finish. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Lovely romance between a small town man and a successful doctor. Both are responsible - Daniel for his town, Alexis for the hospital. Issues of domestic violence well presented. Lovely animals, town, and characters. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Alexis swerves to avoid a raccoon and her car goes into a ditch. A handsome stranger, Daniel, pulls her car out. She later sees him at a lodge, and helps him win a bet. One thing leads to another and they become involved. But Alexis is a surgeon and is expected to follow in her father's footsteps of head of surgery. Daniel is 10 years younger, a laid back carpenter, and trying to earn money to save his legacy. They are mismatched in careers, but matched in love.
Alexis can't decide if she wants to give love a chance or honor her father's dream of her becoming head of surgery, and returning to be with her ex who was verbally and mentally abusive.
Can she give up her world to be part of his?
Cute romance, but I preferred the 2nd and 3rd novels in this series. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

From the very beginning, I was hooked. I mean, who can resist a book that introduces a baby goat in pajamas? It was an instant swoon moment for me, and I didn't need to know anything else to be completely sold on this story.
As I delved deeper into the pages, I couldn't shake the feeling that this book exuded major Hallmark movie vibes. And you know what? That's exactly what I was in the mood for. But what really captured my heart were the characters.
Alexis, our protagonist, is charmed by Daniel's small-town life, despite coming from a completely different world herself. Speaking of Daniel, I found myself pondering who would be the perfect cast for these characters. While I'm still undecided on Daniel, I can totally see Jessica Chastain embodying the role of Alexis with her charm and grace.
But let's talk about the pets, shall we? I'm a sucker for quirky and silly pet characters, and Hunter the dog stole the show for me. His antics brought a smile to my face every time he appeared on the page, and he quickly became the animal front runner in my book.
As I followed Alexis's journey and watched her evolve throughout the story, I found myself drawn more and more to Daniel's small-town life. Maybe it's the wisdom that comes with age, but I couldn't help but appreciate the simplicity and charm of his world, which felt strangely familiar to my own.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Part of Your World. It's a heartwarming tale filled with love, laughter, and adorable animal companions that made my day. If you're in the mood for a feel-good read with plenty of charm, then look no further. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This is my first read by the author and I couldn’t put it down. I enjoy romance stories but this one was so much more. Alexi Montgomery, a doctor, gets stuck in a small town and meets Daniel Grant and sparks fly. They are from two entirely different worlds but they cannot keep away from one another and fall in love. How do two people go through life without each other? Or do you somehow find a way to make it work. I look forward to reading more from this author. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I understand now the hype of this book in BookTok, but I know people will hate me when I say I almost wished the two main characters didn’t end up together in the end. I felt Daniel was too good for Alexis. Here me out first. I am not downplaying the life traumas that Alexis faced her whole life, but I also don’t think that gives her the right to play with two men’s feelings. Granted, one was an a--, but the other was a cinnamon roll hero. I still enjoyed this book very much. There was a lot of humor, and the storyline was engaging. I was very animated while listening to this in my car and I'm pretty sure the other drivers were staring at me. Overall, this may not be my favorite, but I still think it's worth reading. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Abby Jimenez does it again with her expert prose that will leave your heart rendered.
Abusive relationships can take on many forms that leave internal marks on a victim and Jimenez did a brilliant job at describing these signs of abuse…especially while interweaving a new healthy love connection.
When 37 year old upper elite class Dr Alexis Montgomary hits a ditch swerving from a raccoon she would have never guessed her life would be forever flipped upside down when a local 28yo boy towed her car out.
Their worlds are so far apart as he is MD 2020 and she is Cristal. Alexis convinces herself that it is only a fling and she never lets Daniel into her world as her Dad would never accept him into their world.
My heart was almost ripped out of my chest as I could feel every emotion the characters were going through.
Checking my HR while reading it confirms the roller coaster of emotions I was feeling and that my friends is when you know without a doubt you have hit a jackpot of books to read! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Part of My World by Abby Jimenez
Contemporary romance. Forbidden love via two socioeconomic worlds and a 10 year age gap.
Alexis Montgomery is from a privileged background. She’s a doctor and getting over a breakup. She meets Daniel Grant, a carpenter and rural hotel owner and two have undeniably strong chemistry. They end up having what they think will be a one-night interlude, which turns into a growing relationship. But their lives are very different and Alexis doesn’t believe they can ever cross.
It’s a bit heartbreaking. She is overpowered by her parents and their love of her ex. She’s a doctor but her father doesn’t respect that. Spending time with Daniel has her learning an entire different lifestyle. She learns to peel potatoes and fix meals. She learns how to do basic household repairs. Things she never learned, or would even be on her radar in her elite doctor life. Daniel is so patient with Alexis and the town ends up loving her, both for her doctor skills and her enthusiasm for their environment.
But she doesn’t see a way to merge the vast differences.
Of course there will be a happy ever after. This author just loves to pull on those heartstrings. Sigh. And it is a good romance ending. I am looking forward to the next book from this author. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I'd go so far as to call this a 3.68 and may have rounded up had I thought I'd reread. As it stands I won't, although I enjoyed the small town setting on the Root River and the struggle between the two "worlds." Many pieces of the novel felt wedged in there to create conflict that you'd think help tie Alexis back to the town but don't do it effectively (cw: domestic violence). I *love* how she set up the dynamic in their relationship so the power didn't reside on one side, since Daniel is very much a known and younger, while Alexis is much less sure if who she is and older, established, and rich.
There were some narrative irritations in the writing, clear passages to educate the reader, but the book is PLENTY long that these shouldn't be necessary. Not only that, they are distracting and poorly written. Finally, I'm not sure at all how I feel about the multiple emotional abuse conflicts in the plot of the hero being the validation that Alexis needs. Somehow, I feel like pieces of that may have been better nuanced.
Wow, look at me. I enjoyed this book and all this really just speaks to how much more I could see in it! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

"Grace costs you nothing." is a statement given more than once in this wonderful book. Alexis meets Daniel when he pulls her out of a ditch in a rural area. They couldn't be more different. She grew up with every privilege and he grew up raised by his grandparents working hard in the small town his family has always lived in. They have a connection right away and it is because of Daniel and his small town that Alexis becomes more and more aware that privilege is not a guarantee for happiness in life. I loved this audiobook. The narrators were Julia Whelan and Zachary Webber. Their voices told the story like it was truly theirs to tell and I believed every word. I see myself listening to this again and also reading it with my eyes at some point. 5 stars
