About this audiobook
Anne Kirkland is in love…with a home. The 200-year-old stone mansion has been in her family for generations and nothing is more important to her. A renaissance woman, who doesn’t realize how gifted she is, Anne has poured her blood, sweat and tears, along with every penny she has, into restoring the house that she owns along with her father and siblings. But the ravages of time and nature have taken a toll, and despite her best efforts, Anne is losing the war.
Noah Grant comes to the Kirkland house under false pretenses. Pretending to be one of Anne’s sister’s flings, Noah has really come to check out the house for his former father-in-law. Noah represents a group of interested buyers. With the rest of Anne’s family on board, the sale of the house is imminent, and only Anne’s stubborn determination is standing in the way.
Anne and Noah are instantly drawn to each other, despite the obstacles standing in their way, but can Anne ever forgive him once she learns the truth?
Editor's Note
Home is Where the Heart Is...
A recurring theme in Anne Stuart's work is the importance of home--the true home, the one the hero only reveals when he trusts the heroine enough. In House Bound, the importance of home is the crux of the plot, pitting a woman who cares about her familial home against a man representing potential buyers. Toss in family conflict, subterfuge, and the hero's gradual unraveling and you've got a classic Anne Stuart novel.

2.5 stars.. my mistake for not looking past the description of the 200yr old farmhouse… the book turned out to be an erotic romance - thought I will give the author credit for how inoffensively it was written.. completely implausible but if was well paced with decent character development. Unsurprisingly the farmhouse part was a bit lacking but the family drama was interesting enough to keep me engaged. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5

I found the story boring and uneventful. The characters were unlikable even poor Ann. I couldn't finish it - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Well crafted and well written. I got a bit impatient with the heroine being so stubbornly resistant to her own joy. ? But I guess if there’s no resistance, there’s no joy. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

A lot of backstabbing going on. While I agree Annie should forgive Noah, I would never have forgiven the family who went behind her back. Though what Noah gave her to replace her loss, was so much better. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Disappointing, although the text was well written, some of the events only would happened in a bad soap operas. There is no world other than a soap opera where a woman would return her engagement ring and her ex fiancé would take the ring back and then give it to her sister a few hours later. Those things don’t happen in real life. Some of the stuff in this book would only happen in a bad soap opera.1 person found this helpful

Hated the story and the characters. Made myself finish listening just hoping somehow it would get better. But I should’ve listened to my gut and stopped halfway through!9 people found this helpful
