About this audiobook

Excitement, danger, and falling for the man of her dreams all have Grace under pressure.

Small town college professor Grace Michaels’ normally boring life has become more than a sane woman can handle. First, her ex-finance shows up in town, then her parents park their RV in front of her house. It makes it kind of difficult to seduce her sexy new neighbor, Sheriff Ren Morello. Of course, having her office and home burglarized isn’t great either, but it does put her up close and personal with Ren.

Ren wants nothing to do with Grace. So what if he can’t seem to stop thinking about her? She is a woman who would demand commitment and after his nasty divorce from his cheating ex-wife, Ren wants nothing to do with marriage. All he wants is hard fast sex. The problem is, the only woman he can picture it with is Grace.

When the threats to Grace turn almost deadly, Ren finds himself in her company more often than not, and keeping his hands off her becomes impossible. But as the danger grows closer, the attraction grows deeper, and Grace must choose between protecting her heart or her life.

Editor's Note

USA Today Bestselling Author...

Schroeder’s humor sparkles in this small town contemporary romance between a curvy professor and the sheriff who’s been burnt out on love, thanks to his messy divorce. The two have a ribald meet-cute, and the sexy hijinks and sparring banter continues throughout. There’s a suspense angle as well, requiring the reluctant sheriff o protect the accident-prone heroine. It’s fun, fast-paced, and very sexy.

Author

Melissa Schroeder

From an early age, USA Today Bestselling author Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book. Since her first published book, Grace Under Pressure, Mel has had over 60 short stories, novellas, and novels published. She has written in genres ranging from historical to contemporary to futuristic and has worked with 8 publishers although she handles most of her publishing herself. She is best known for her Harmless and Santini series. After years of following her military husband around the country and world, Mel happily lives with her family in horse and wine country in Northern Virginia.

This is an interesting storyline that goes in different directions. It is an adult book, not for teens.

This was a little jumpy in the storyline and seriously, some of the intimate scenes made no sense. But whatever, the characters were mostly likeable.

The story would get 5 stars, but the narrator wasn’t the best. I recommend buying the book and reading it yourself-it’s darling and well written!!

Fun story, I liked the 2 MC's as well as the side characters. The narration was good except for one thing - the German professor. That accent was terrible! He wasn't a big character though, so I'm willing to overlook it.

I’m so sick and tired of fiction aimed at women that tries to normalize controlling and abusive behavior by men who get away with it because they’re “hot”. And books that portray professional, educated women as nitwits who react so stupidly to men who treat them badly. Did not finish.

Solid four stars, I really enjoyed this book!
The narrator wasn't the greatest, but wasn't terrible.

I don't have a lot more to say about this book, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing! It was just a good, solid story that kept me listening. I spent awhile thinking that the mystery was WAY too obvious....and then, it turned out that it wasn't at all!

OH, and the sexay stuff was HAWT!
