About this audiobook

She didn't break my heart and I didn't break hers. Our hearts shattered at the exact same moment in time.

I've loved Ella for as long as I've loved baseball.
As much as I was born to play ball, I was born to love her.
Our small town fairytale was written and sealed with our happily ever after.

It only took one night to erase our meant to be status.

A mutual decision was made. Our families agreed, two separate paths was the best decision for us to heal. Stupidly, I agreed and I left her behind.

Now, two years later, I'm back for her, but I came unprepared. She's no longer the naive girl who fell in love with the town's baseball stud. She's moved on. Well, good thing I love a challenge because making Ella Keaton fall in love with me all over again will be my biggest test yet.

Let's play ball.

Editor's Note

Second Chance Romance...

The first book in Lynn’s New Adult “Infield” series is a second chance romance with a lot of hero pining. Crosby regrets letting Ella go two years ago, and is determined to win her back — but she’s not the same person any more, and he has to do a lot of wooing.

I recommend this story. Well written, almost thought it could have been a true one. Definitely a tear jerker. Thank you for making it audio, with a very good narrator.

Story was good until the ending which seemed very abrupt. It was written from a college perspective so if you're not into that, you will want to skip this one. Sweet story, didn't blow me away with the young love angst but it was still good. A little spice sprinkled in, with the good narrators. The ending needed more work though, at least a little more follow through.

    Decent story and narration.

Took a bit to get where it was going and I wish there was an epilogue that went past when things were pretty settled. However, things only got settled really in the last few pages.

The characters were pretty likable. Especially the male lead.

    2.5 Stars for me!

The first 20 minutes or so is great until the MCs come together again. If you want angst, this story is going to be a 5 Star for you. I know that it is the college years which means angst fueled NA drama but there was just so much of it.

Very abrupt ending, but seems as though they are on the next book.

I loved this story and the how overcoming such tragedy at a time in life when you're just transitioning from a teenager into becoming an adult. A time where the world is at your feet as you are about to embark on certain freedoms of leaving home for the 1st time to experience that while embarking on college and chasing dreams with the one you love by your side and how that might change being away from each other. Having to face tragedy and such trauma on the brink of that is life altering at any age but especially then and how it shapes and causes you to make choices to numb yourself with guilt that morphs to blame. It causes more pain and loss especially if not dealt with properly and the author does a great job of showcasing that yet bringing it full circle with healing eventually from bonds that helped shape who they became from early on in life and how it broke but then how that bond came back and caused the ultimate healing. Overcoming a pain that was more crippling as a greater sense of guilt was thrust into Crosby being ran out of the town be grew up and was raised in. Seeing how he dealt w that alongside his brother, Braxton and of course most importantly Ella along w his old high school Coach & Noah's mother was beautiful. So very well written and had me feeling all of like was there with them with the help of the amazing Narrators used who I'd not heard before, or don't think so. They were absolutely perfect though as brought exact time for age and exacting the perfect timing of emotions truly felt. I only wish there was a. Epilogue for Crosby and Ella. They need it desperately. I hope that we'll get it in another story of a continuation of them or possibly have it added as a revision.

This was an amazing growth story. How characters overcome their own demons and come out at the end.

What a steaming pile of toxic masculinity and (internalized) misogyny. I wasn’t expecting much from the cover, but this “book” was a total DNF pile of garbage.
