- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was my first book by this author. I saw a post of hers on IG and thought she sounded so fun. Since I had a break in my ARC books, I decided to try one of hers.
There were things I really liked about this book and then there were some things I wasn't as impressed with. I didn't love the language. There's some mild to moderate curse words. (No F-bombs).
What impressed me by the author and her post was her wit and snappy banter. That was evident in the book as well. Sometimes though I felt that's the only way the min female character could communicate. There were some good banter and moments though. The first 25 percent of the book was a bit slow and more women's fiction to me, but it did end up picking up and getting more romance related after that point.
I listened to the audiobook and I was not overly impressed with the narrator. She was a bit breathy, especially with the male characters. I didn't want to DNF the book because of the narrator though. So I sped her up and plowed through the story.
I don't know how to give a star rating for this one. I am going to go with a 3.5 or 3.75 which both would round up to 4. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book, the little pick up lines were my favorit, some were cheesy but others were witty n even felt original. It added a personal touch to this book that made me smile and react.
