About this audiobook

Things can’t get much worse for Dylan Powell. She just lost her sure-bet promotion to her boyfriend, and then lost her boyfriend when she found out he’d been hiding an engagement the whole time they were together. Now her ex is her boss, and she needs to get away ASAP to clear her head.

Enter her little brother Zach with the perfect escape: he and his business partner need her help promoting their new resort. When Dylan arrives at the resort, it’s clear the place needs a lot of help, and it’s equally clear that Zach’s partner and best friend, Mal, isn’t interested in anything Dylan tries to suggest. As the pair butt heads and fix up the resort, they find themselves learning not only to respect each other, but that there are clear sparks flying between them.

Can the pair build something beautiful together, or will their carefully constructed walls come crumbling down?

Editor's Note

Witty Rom-Com...

Dean’s sharp, witty style is well-suited to her more widely known urban fantasy series, but is also perfect for a contemporary rom-com. Dylan has hit bottom (broken engagement, lost job), and her brother asks her to come help at his camp for adults. There, she meets the grumpy, brooding Zach, who’s also tasked with the same job. They butt heads — and eventually hearts — in this delightfully fun romance.

Great storytelling! Loved all the characters, they are all beautifully flawed and the scene is set perfectly.

This book hit close to home, so it was nice to read that bigger girls also deserve love.

Great book. It was fun and adventurous. 4 stars because at 95% of the way through there were some questionable choices made by the author. It ended well but right before that I was shaking my head. I still absolutely love this author and will continue to read her work.

Nice sweet story. Didn't drag on more than it needed :)

I loved this book! Such a sweet story and good main & side characters. The H, Mal, was typically grumpy, but he had good reason & he made my heart melt ❤️. Dylan, the h, was a lovely, smart, funny plus-size professional, and I want to be friends with her! The setting sounded idyllic (I want to go to adult summer camp ?), and the conflicts didn't seem overly contrived or forced.

I also have to put in a word for the narrator, Elizabeth Russell. She has a great voice - throaty and sexy for Dylan, strong and masculine for Mal without sounding too deep & fake.

Good writing style and storyline. Wonderful to listen to a story that is light and full of caring people who need a push to find love.

Cute and predictable but sometimes that's just what you need. I do love the idea of adult camp!

This is a fairly quick and easy listen if you want a grumpy broody H and a jilted h. Predictable and I probably won’t remember much but this one fit my listening mood.
The narration was ok- a little cringey for some of the minor characters.

This story is about a woman who falls in love with a man who is objectively mean to her.

I don’t understand how they “fell in love” when they seemed to barley converse for like 85% of the book

I tried to get past the incredibly odd narration, but the cartoonish enemies set-up pushed me over the edge. Why would they be upset to have an editor who can give them free advertising? Why would they treat each other like this? I don't buy any of it.
The book description also seems to be written by someone who didn't read it. The love interest is the owner and Zach is the brother.

The book was good but the narrator was horrible. It was very hard to listen to.

Not sure what some of these bad reviews are talking about. This was a great book with great narration. Perfect balance of emotional development and personal depth mixed with the spicy scenes. My only complaint was that we didn’t have an epilogue. They could’ve cut to a wedding by the lake or something to show them together and business booming. Otherwise loved it!

Did not like the swearing. Not my kind of story focussing so much on te f***** or rather the description thereof. I did finish the story though and it was not too bad.
