KJ Micciche

KJ Micciche is a novelist who writes (mostly) romantic comedy. She hails from Queens, New York, where she spent countless hours as a kid curled up under the covers reading The Babysitters Club by flashlight way past her bedtime. Now all grown up, she runs a non-profit organization that teaches kids with dyslexia how to read, and she pens her own stories as well. The proud mom of two little girls, she and her family live on Long Island and summer in Cape Cod.

I never laughed so hard. With every chapter listening with anticipation what is going to happen next. I didn't want to go to sleep until the end.

I loved everything about this. I loved the storytelling. I love the humor, and I also really love the readers. They were both so natural in their delivery. I really appreciate that two different readers were used for both of the perspectives.

I'm apparently in the minority here. But at 22% I had to give up. This had all the "You've Got Mail" vibes between the email correspondence and book world backdrop, but it supremely failed to elicit the same enjoyment and love I have for the 90's movie in this book if anything Colin was one note and a little too quick to forgive and jump on flirting with Grace and Grace was just juvenile. Between the sharting (hello are we eleven year old boys?) and just her general immature reaction to pretty much everything. I'm not saying the birth of your ex-finace's child with your former wedding planner doesn't deserve a girls night and a bit of drinking but as the mitigating event to reconnect these former high school classmates and potentially have them fall madly in love with each other? Yeah, my suspension of disbelief is completely gone.

I wanted to love this because it sounded completely adorable in that so sweet give you cavities kind of second chance romance sort of way, but it completely failed to get me on board.

It was funny and heart warming the perfect palette cleanser between heavy books❤️The characters are loveable with real life problems ?

Cute story but why so many comments about her flatulence? Lol

Super cute. There were a few cringey moments where the author tries too hard to make the MC relatable, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the story and characters.

It would have been a fine low-smut story if it weren’t for the crazy ex trope + queer coding + weirdly dated attitudes. The protagonist has a similar low key but consistent meanness that reminds me of Glimore Girls.

Funny! I laughed out loud many times. Especially the shaving scene, I still chuckle just thinking about it.

Really enjoyed it. Had more to it than a lot of romance novels.

This was HYSTERICAL! It’s not your typical swoony romance- it’s an over the top, laugh out loud, kinda crude but delightful rom-com. I almost died when I inhaled my bagel at the bandaid part I laughed so hard. Fans of Tara Sivec will especially love it!

The narration was fantastic. I loved all her voices, even the men.

I wish there was a little bit more at the end to round it out - and hello I wanted her to reveal her letters!!!- but really no other complaints!

So glad I took a chance on this delightful, hilarious 4.5 ⭐️ read!

The narrators did a superb job! I enjoyed listening to them. They made the story more entertaining. I just think the book includes many unnecessary stories/parts, but it shows how great of a storyteller the author is.

What a pleasant surprise this book was!

Deftly penned, and funny as all heck, even if you're like me and have little tolerance for bodily function (and malfunction) humor.

I could have done with 99% less vomiting, farting, peeing, pooping, sharting....well, you get the picture. But testament to how much I really liked the book is the fact that I'm giving it five stars anyway.

A truly original storyline is harder to come by than it should be, in romance books these days....but this was one. Sure, a key plot point stretched credulity a bit, but come on, we as readers are used to that.

And "the third act breakup" didn't feel as contrived as it often does, rather, organic to the story, and actually healthy for the characters.

I will ABSOLUTELY look for more by this author.

(oh, and the male narrator was sort of "eh" for me, but Kelli Tager did an OUTSTANDING job!! Better than a lot of the "big names" that a lot of people laud. GIVE THIS WOMAN MORE JOBS!)

Sorry. There’s so many things wrong with this story. I gave it 2 stars (an extra star) because of just the way it ended. Mixed plot lines. The strange differentiation of the two POVs like the author has no idea how to write from a males perspective. The immature “shart”ing in the beginning? Idk even know what that was about. The slang was used all kinds of wrong to the point where I just cringed at every use of whatever slang was used throughout the entire book. The most disappointing for me was it just seemed like this was rushed through in writing this story. I feel like it could’ve been really good imo. But there were plot lines that weren’t really necessary and then plot lines that didn’t follow through leaving me beyond confused. I’m sorry. I hate to write such negative reviews but maybe the next one will be better?

I really liked this book except for the amount of times the emails had to be fully said. I got pretty annoyed with that, if I was reading it instead of listening, I would have skipped over that.
