About this audiobook

Get ready for a fun detour of heart, humor, and heat in this opposites attract, enemies to lovers romance about looking beyond the surface to find love.

When corporate banker Julie Laurich gets stuck in traffic beside the man of her dreams and promptly forgets how to use adult words, it's typical. When the universe merges their lanes again and she runs into him a second time at the gym, it's anything other than matter-of-course.

The adorably sexy guy in the black truck proves Nico Farfalla could have been the perfect candidate for a hot rebound. That is, until he opens his mouth...

Julie doesn't even know him and already she pre-hates him. And because her universe is apparently blind to all the warning signs, Nico's chances keep on coming. Their paths continue to cross, and soon Julie discovers he is not what she thought. As much as she doesn't want to put any stock into Nico's words, every second she spends with him blurs the lines.

Before long Julie's attempts to keep her distance from Nico and focus on work are blocked when she's assigned to his elementary school classroom for a community program. Their chemistry is undeniable and unyielding. So when the opportunity for a major promotion in a new city lands in her lap, Julie must decide: Is a love she never saw coming worth the risk of her career?

I really wanted to love this book because I listened to the other 2 first but the narrator is making it really hard. The voice and the exaggerated drawl at the end of every sentence is highly annoying

This is a sweet love story and less of a novella. It was still really nice to listen too.

DNF, could not get past 12%, her supposed best friend fat shamed her for a whole chapter and them got her a terrible trainer. I have no intrest in listening to it further

I understand why other reviews were so lacklustre. I’ve listened to other audiobooks by this writer but I struggled to finish this. The lead character shows us a lot of her less than admirable qualities: being a bad listener and a poor friend, centring all conversations on herself, consistently behaving irrationally, jumping to poorly formed conclusions, taking things out on others, being bad at respecting the limits of others-and only very few of her good ones. It’s hard to understand why the male lead character liked her. It helped to reflect on being much (much) younger and really clueless, and in a way, it’s bold to write a character who is so flawed and emotionally immature. It’s like following the most clueless version of ourselves around.

    Ok, not my fave.

Why does he like her? She's so negative about herself and nothing likeable about her personality and they keep mentioning how fat she is. No just no

This is a sweet storyline of finally finding true love. It is a fun, fast read you won't want to put down.

Lot of telling rather than showing. The author over explains trivial details. It’s distracting. ?

Dnf, lots of fatphobia, lots of digs about weight gain and stuff in the beginning. I might come back to it, but idk. It's too much, like every other sentence is her talking about her weight.

Nope nope nope. Too much fat shaming and the mentality of "this guy is perfect and I'm not". No time for this.
