About this audiobook
Since his first performance at the legendary New York nightclub “Catch a Rising Star” as a twenty-one-year-old college student in fall of 1975, Jerry Seinfeld has written his own material and saved everything. “Whenever I came up with a funny bit, whether it happened on a stage, in a conversation, or working it out on my preferred canvas, the big yellow legal pad, I kept it in one of those old school accordion folders,” Seinfeld writes. “So I have everything I thought was worth saving from forty-five years of hacking away at this for all I was worth.”
For this book, Jerry Seinfeld has selected his favorite material, organized decade by decade. In this “trove of laugh-out-loud one-liners” (Associated Press), you will witness the evolution of one of the great comedians of our time and gain new insights into the thrilling but unforgiving art of writing stand-up comedy.
Editor's Note
Hilarious…
In his first book in over 25 years, Jerry Seinfeld invites us into a time machine to hear his favorite bits from a storied stand-up career that has been going strong since the mid ’70s. During our current tough times when a good laugh is more precious than ever, this book is a total must-listen.

There is a short part at the beginning of each decade where Jerry talks a little but the majority of this book is him reading his bits. If you like his standup you will like this book. If you are expecting him to tell you where the idea for the bits came from that is not this book. I love Jerry’s standup and this was almost as good as seeing him live. Loved it!1 person found this helpful

I don't usually listen to comedy books, but this was pretty entertaining, albeit random. Jerry is hilarious; in a "how does he even think of this? Kind of way. It's a great book to play while you're passing the time. I listened while packing, and it helped a lot! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Enjoyable, primarily for the fans, but little new content. that said, unless you've memorized 6 hours of his act, you might appreciate hearing at somebody again. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5

nice book. look like a fool wondering around laughing about nothing or anything. and the worst part is you cannot really explain it beyond "it’s a Seinfeld audiobook" and concluding with "whatever". - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Overall pretty funny. Only thing I would say is that for someone who prides himself as a "clean comic" he sure does say "God d$#mn" a lot.... - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I had never watched the TV show but had seen clips off Mr Seinfeld’s stand up act. This is comprised of his act over the decades and is both good fun while showing a darker humour being more evident over time not unlike the great observational comic George Carlin. Seinfeld does not try to Carlin of course but his comedy is rooted in what he sees and that to me is funny stuff - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5

I am sorry I listened to this audio book. Before I had, I really liked Jerry, but now I realize just how miserable he is.
He says he can't stand people and puts up with his kids. Maybe it's meant as comedy but considering how many times he conveys those sentiments it's truly doubtful.
If you want to hear someone rant on and on about the things in life that bother him then you'll likely love this book. As for me, I want my hours back. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Good jokes, also enjoyed a little introduction to his becoming a comedian. It was just right length, more room for the funny stuff. Laughed out loud sometimes while walking outside. Played the iphone joke to my teenager and got a lot of eyerolling back :D It hurts when it's true - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I really enjoyed the first chapter where Jerry talks about how he became a comedian and how much joy he experiences through performing. The rest was awesome - many many times I was laughing out loud while walking the dog - in our Midwest winter nights. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5
