About this audiobook

My name is Tess Owens, and my life is officially on fire. I never thought dancing at my best friend's wedding would be the match to light the flames. But with one lingering touch, one longing look . . . and one sneaky caterer holding a camera phone, my almost ex-husband is ready to torch my entire life.

Unwilling to face the heat, I do what I do best: I run. Straight into the arms of Rachel and her team of NHL hockey players. One player stands apart from the rest. Jacksonville Rays star forward Ryan Langley is out with an injury. I get the surprise of my life when he shows up at my door, declaring himself my roommate.

Now I have six weeks to launch a new business. Six weeks to fight for my freedom . . . all while fighting my growing attraction to this All-American sweetheart. Did I mention he's ten years younger than me?

I want to believe him when he says age is just a number. I want to believe that our pasts don't define us forever. But first I have to stop running. With one innocent dance, Ryan Langley helped me start this fire. What if we're meant to fan these flames? What if, together, we're meant to burn?

Contains mature themes.

Loved it. Meaby not quite as spicy as pucking around but still a lot of spice. It contains way more suspence and my anxiety levels peaked when Troy entered the premecis.

I love love love the narrators' work for this series. It is really subjective but I find both Amy Hall and Alex Kydd do a great job especially when it comes to doing male and female voices respectively :) Tess and Ryan are my favorite couple (well, still waiting for that Poppy story).

This series is in my top five Sports/Hockey Romance series of 2023. Again Emily Rath delivers a unique story and unforgettable characters that embrace "Love is Love " . Tessa Owens escapes an abusive husband leaving Cincinnati to find haven with her best friend Rachel Price ..lead PT Dr for the Jacksonville Rays . The way Emily blends the story line from Pucking Around , Tessa and Ryan Langley's story begins at the wedding for our beautiful polyamorous four. It is reverse age gap but really the way it is written, "age is but a number" has never been more true . Ryan Langley has been working as an adult with the junior NHL league before he left high school , helping support his mother and sister. He had to grow up young . So at 22 with millions in endorsements alone, a starting forward for his team he had the drive and responsibility of someone twice his age.
With Tessa behind him Ryan faced his dyslexia that he tried to hide. So rare do we have LGTBQ and neurodiverse characters in one book . But this series embraces the tough truths , Dyslexia can be scary for individuals and this book also shows how many atheletes with reading disabilities can be taken advantage of, Tessa's ex uncovered Ryans weakness, but didnt think he would have a whole team support like he did.
Ryan helped Tessa heal from her abuse, and PTSD and anxiety. In him she not only found the in tune lover who gave his whole heart , but the support at the end of this book had me in such happy tears for her ; "life is beautiful, life is short live out loud" as Ilmari said
And that Epilogue...the most romantic epilogue of 2023. They found home in each other.

The narrators I would have chosen differently if it had been me , but Amy Hall and Alex Kydd still did a good ⭐⭐⭐ job . I would have chosen Angelina Rocca or Megan Wicks as Tessa and Jacob Morgan as Ryan . Jacob has that expressive all american boy voice that is perfection as an athlete .
