About this audiobook

Rupi Kaur presents an all-new performance of milk and honey, her #1 New York Times bestselling collection of poetry and prose about survival, the experience of violence, abuse, love, loss, and femininity. This new production was recorded in 2021 along with the first-ever recordings of her #1 bestsellers the sun and her flowers and home body, all of them performed by Rupi Kaur.

The book is divided into four chapters, and each chapter serves a different purpose. Deals with a different pain. Heals a different heartache. milk and honey takes listeners through a journey of the most bitter moments in life and finds sweetness in them—because there is sweetness everywhere if you are just willing to look.

Rupi Kaur

A breakout literary phenomenon and #1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Rupi Kaur wrote, illustrated, and self-published her first poetry collection milk and honey in 2014. Next came its artistic siblings the sun and her flowers and home body, both debuting at #1 on bestseller lists across the world. These collections have sold more than 11 million copies and have been translated into over 43 languages. In 2022, she released her fourth book Healing Through Words which is a journey of guided writing exercises to help the reader explore their creativity. As she has done from the very beginning, Rupi self-produced Rupi Kaur Live, the first poetry special of its kind, which debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. Rupi Kaur graces stages across the globe on sold-out world tours. These shows are a poetic theatrical experience interlaced with her own touch of stand-up. Her work touches on love, loss, trauma, healing, femininity, and migration. She feels most at home when creating art, performing her poetry onstage, and spending time with family and friends.

I love how it traces her life from the beginning to the end, the way the poetry flows seamlessly and I like how I can almost taste Indian curry on my lips and feel the way deep thorns of her hurt from miles away. It is descriptive and full with emotion. It isn't just part 1 or 2 but it is an actual story. Although talking about raped so often hurts me deep inside as I can relate. I have heard about what takes place in India but to hear it so close was almost a little more than than my heart could take. I like how she weaves the words so scholarly words like " it is your voice that undress me" and "I didn't leave because I don't love you but because the longer I stayed I did not love love myself" Her writing feels like home.

What a beautiful reflection of myself and so many other souls. She speaks in a way that tends wounds I didn’t know needed tending. She flames the ember of coals I thought were burnt away. Dive into her story , you have her consent, thank you rupi ?

Simple yet delightful. These are not sweet little verses, but forceful poems full of life and all that entails: love, suffering, joy and pain.
I can't wait to find out more about the author.

A lot of lines hit home so much. Wonderful piece. Could have been better if it was narrated by another narrator tho
