About this audiobook

Meet Our Hero . . .

Gareth St. Clair is in a bind. His father, who detests him, is determined to beggar the St. Clair estates and ruin his inheritance. Gareth’s sole bequest is an old family diary, which may or may not contain the secrets of his past . . . and the key to his future. The problem is—it’s written in Italian, of which Gareth speaks not a word.

Meet Our Heroine . . .

All the ton agreed: there was no one quite like Hyacinth Bridgerton. She’s fiendishly smart, devilishly in small doses. But there’s something about her—something charming and vexing—that grabs him and won’t quite let go . . .

Meet Poor Mr. Mozart . . .

Or don’t. But rest assured, he’s spinning in his grave when Gareth and Hyacinth cross paths at the annual—and annually discordant—Smythe-Smith musicale. To Hyacinth, Gareth’s every word seems a dare, and she offers to translate his diary, even though her Italian is slightly less than perfect. But as they delve into the mysterious text, they discover that the answers they seek lie not in the diary, but in each other . . . and that there is nothing as simple—or as complicated—as a single, perfect kiss.

Absolutely perfect. The banter between our two leads is just perfect, and a lot of Lady Danbury. My favorite book of the series so far

Just what I imagined Hyacinth to be. Great semi-mystery story

It wasn’t my favorite of the series but it was still good!

I love that this book is different from the other Bridgerton books as the focus is other than the main characters not being able to decide that they are in love.

This light series is full of laugh out loud moments and the narrator does an exceptional job. Stress-free entertainment!

This is a delightful story. Highly recommend reading. Hyacinth Bridgerton is a winning leading lady. Garrett's story is moving and fun. The second epilogue was the perfect ending and left me smiling. Truely my favorite ending of all the Bridgerton books I've read so far.

I liked it, but I can't say that i loved it. It was better than the first books. Gareth had the "I'm a man, hear me roar" attitude that Julia likes to portray her men with. Hyacinth characterisation felt flat at times, though i liked that Julia portrait her more like his equal, than the rest of the pairs. I like the plot twist from the 2nd epilogue.

4.5 stars. I’m deducting .5 stars because of all the times the author wrote “he/she ground out”. But it is, like every other book in this series, wonderful storytelling. And the narrator has such fantastic range. She is truly one of the best I’ve heard.

Cute! This gave me a lot of feels. I didn't really feel like I *knew* Hyacinth from earlier books, so her story was exciting for that reason. I loved that they were trying to solve this mystery in the subplot, but I think I'm getting a little burned out on the few tropes that historical fiction and especially this series rely so hard on, and that's part of why it wasn't a 5. WHHHHHYYYY is every single power dynamic he's a rake who's been with all the fish in the sea, and she barely knows anything about sex (although Hyacinth does have some second hand knowledge), and then she gets embarrassed for the not knowing and/or it's so hot to him how untouched she is compared to the very girls *he* played a part in sullying and taking advantage of the sullied state of previously? Why do they all have such Daddy issues? I was really tempted to continue the spin off series(es?) and I know that not every one is going to be my favorite, but I can't tell if right now it's me or the book.
