About this audiobook

On a random night out with her girlfriends, Taye experiences something she hasn’t before.

Instant attraction.

Between vodkas and dance moves she probably shouldn't be doing in public, never mind on a podium, she meets him.

She’s never had a one night stand before, and to have one is on her list of things to experience in her life.

Not only that, but the chemistry is off the charts.

Decision made.

She’s going home with this man, and she’s not going to regret it when she leaves him in the morning.

Or at least that’s what she thinks.

Editor's Note

New York Times Bestselling Author...

Fernando’s “The List” begins with a one-night stand, one where neither of the two has any expectation of future contact. But their chemistry is off the charts, and soon they find themselves wondering if they can commit to one person for the rest of their lives. Fernando writes flawed, deeply real characters, and her books are sexy and intense.

********SPOILERS******This book was incredibly difficult to get through. It romantized a man who consistently showed that he was not interested, and it's like his honestly somehow made the woman more delusional about how "good" of a person he was. But we never really got to see how good he was because there was no action to back it. I considered DNF'ing it, but we made it to the part where her vision cleared up. And maybe I'm wrong, but all it did was support the idea that a man only wants you when you stop chasing him. Anyways, we made it, and well, I wouldn't recommend it, but I also wouldn't tell you not to read it.

I enjoyed that they didn't get what they wanted right away. That she was willing g to put herself above her feelings.

Sexy, hot, heartbreaking and back to sexy! Loved the liberated characters!

Dnf at chapter 13. Main character has no self respect. I can't count how many times I thought "how pathetic" when I was trying to listen to this.

An absolutely awful monologue with pauses between each sentence which drags the book on even more. I skip-read most of it and it never got interesting.

I agree a bit with the other readers. It drags on a bit in some points. Could have gone with less "I am perfect, and I love him, and he doesn't" it's repetitive at times. Still liked it.

Narrator was abit monotone, and the main character seemed to desperate for him, but overall a good book.

Thid book was VERY HARD to listen to. Skiped a lot

extremely strong start but there were 15 chapters of the same exact “i’m just a perfect person with no faults who loves freely and i miss him so much and i’m a strong independent woman so i’m going to keep on pining after him for FOUR YEARS until he decides to come back around” … and SPOILER it’s not until she stops throwing herself at this guy … who seems like he wants nothing to do with her …. that he decides that maybe he does actually like her enough. I had to skim the second half of the book just because i wanted to know how it ended but it was painfully slow

Repetitive, and lacking depth of character. Sorry. I wanted to like it.

While I loved the main character, I felt the male character was missing more depth. Writing is hard and writing a good relationship is harder. Overall, I was happy with the speed of the story and the love of being independence the MC.

This story and narration are perfection. Definitely worth listening. In all truth I will probably listen to this more than once.

I liked this book and narration was spot on! Realistic and well written. Loved the banter! Can’t wait to see what else this author has written

Some of the reviews are very dramatic, I'll say that. It was actually the reviews that made me want to read it to see if it really was the train wreck that was described. It doesn't deserve the hate it got.

He never lies or promises more than he is willing to give. In fact, yes pretty honest and straightforward when it comes to that. She never asked for more, nor did she request that they become exclusive.

    Cringeworthy moments? For sure yes.
Is she a bit dramatic? At times.
Could I relate to falling for someone who is unavailable? Absolutely.
Do I think she waited around pining for him all these years? Absolutely not. I think it really was a case of no one who came around did it for her (even though only one was described in the book)

I truly loved it. I have to say I think was in tears about 5 different times. This tends to happen with most of Chantels books. Can’t wait to move in to the next book

I didn’t hate it. At all. Actually it’s one of the better books I’ve listened to lately. A little annoyed with the “one year later.” And “two years later” but it wrapped up nicely

You can use almost every word typical for a romance novel but when it comes to the word ass you can’t?!? You use arse?!? Why???? I cringed every time she said it….other than that I enjoyed the book.

Not sure if I really liked this book. A lot of it is repetitive and I admit I skipped a few chapters. Taye did a lot of introspective belly button gazing. The book would have been better if it was half the length or if there was more than one story in it. Writing a book, partying with friends with yearly catch ups with Eli does not provide an adequate story. The concept is sound, but she really came off as a bit too much and he was too 'mysterious'.

This book pissed me off. She just needed to get over him instead of spending half the book obsessing over him.

Well this is a totally different kind of story than I thought it would be....I kind of didn't like it at times but I honestly think that it might be my favorite I have read in quite a while

Low key cringe. I can not take anyone serious saying arse in a non British accent. I get the book is suppose to be real and raw but it does not come off that way. It’s just made me want to knock some sense into the main character.

I didn’t care for the writing or the reader. And the main character seemed……. We’ll say dingy.. It really seems like the whole book was about him not really wanting her, red flag after red flag. It got pretty annoying.

This book was really good but the end could have been a little bit clearer. It was all about her and not enough info about him.

I’m not a feminist by any means. But, it was hard for me to finish this book. My parents have been married for 42 years. My Dad had slept with all of North Houston. Mom keeps taking him back. In the early 09’s he came home at 6:40am after laying in bed with another woman with 3 hi kids on his neck. Guess what my mom dies? Irons his Wrangler jeans so he can go back out to the bar. Hell no! You are setting an example to young women that being a piece of meat and not standing up for yourself is ok.

    2 Stars for me.

The fact that she gave him another chance after blatantly slapping her in the face with his complete disregard for fidelity was too much for me. Nothing he could do would stop her libido when it comes to him. My guess is that he could contract ebola, coughing up whatever and still get her to do whatever he wanted.

The author does have a way of stating things beautifully, but was ridiculously repetitive. The plot was uninteresting and lacked depth. I kept waiting for more to be introduced, but it never happened. Characters underdeveloped and lacking. It felt like a waste of time.
