About this audiobook

Reporter Suzanna Molloy is looking for the story that will change her world, and she’s pretty sure that story is Dr. Daniel Crompton, a gorgeous, grumpy genius, obsessively working in his lab on something secret. Suzanna loves secrets, and she’s not averse to gorgeous geniuses, either, so a trip to Compton Labs is a moral imperative.

Daniel Compton is working on a project he knows will change the world. Instead, a lab explosion changes him, giving him fantastic powers. But with great powers come great enemies, and now he’s on the run with Susanna, stuck with a power that’s hard to control and a woman who’s hard to resist.

Editor's Note

Bonkers and compelling…

Originally released in Harlequin’s “More than Men” series, “Cinderman” is an absolutely bonkers and compelling book, pairing a genius scientist with a determined journalist. While working for the evil conglomerate, the genius scientist suffers a lab accident, giving him enhanced powers (the “More than Men” part). He and the journalist go on the run as he learns about his new abilities — and falls in love.

I really loved this book. It was sweet, funny, and entertaining. It for sure brightened my day. If you're looking for steam, this is probably not the book for you, but I do recommend it highly. It saved my day!

Am very glad I listened to this book. Characters were very believable and storyline filled with excitement at every corner. The narrator did an excellent job.

Very good story. Not another cookie cutter romance novel. Suspenseful throughout.

Lots of mistakes - the narrator murdered this book - it was horrendous to listen to although I did like the story

Might be a better read than listening… it was a little off trying to follow the back and forth of the characters at times. Overall it was good.

Naive look at greed and power, and a almost superhero

It's an interesting plot but the characters are flat. If it had been any longer I wouldn't have finished it.

I enjoy the whole book. The writer kept you discovering sides of all the. Character. The ending was the best part.

This book was an ok read. It just didn’t seem to have much depth to the story and romance. But it was ok ish.

(Daniel & Suzanna): Ok. I can dig it. Mystery, intrigue and some hot loving. Daniel is a scientist working on something secretive. (That can't be good). His employers are anxious to see what he's come up with. Suzanna is a reporter who has broken into the facility and is sneaking around Daniel's lab. After he catches her, there's an explosion and a spill. Then all hell breaks loose. The suspense of the book was really good. Some of the scientific knowledge got a little overwhelming at times and just boring at others for me. Science is not my jam unless it involves dissecting something. Daniel and Suzanna are a mess together, they're like oil and water and argue constantly but it's funny to see them try to ignore their actual feelings. They're running for their lives so tension is high. They have to find out what happened and why and most importantly, who's responsible. It was actual pretty good.

Pretty cute love story, kept my interest. The male lead is a bit far-fetched: reads Georgette Heyer in his spare time but doesn't believe in love? Seems unlikely but still a likeable character.

Interesting superhero story mixed with lots of romance. Even though it would have been better if the author didn't have to make the girl stupid so that she can be obviously predictable or too sentimental. I want to think women can do better than that and that a better and more interesting story could have been done with a stronger female lead.

I want to go back and smack myself 6 hours ago because I was judging this book and I thought it wasn't going to be this good and that they will be on the run from bad people forever but now I am intrigued, I am mesmerised, I am speechless, and I want more?☺?

The writing was fine, but stars deducted for intense casual misogyny, poorly executed technobabble, and an understanding of consent that was hazy at best.

I wish I could say I liked this book as I totally have a thing for the 'touch starved scientist finding love' trope, but this book seems poorly written and developed. Lots of info dumping, the main characters don't really have any chemistry besides physical attraction, and the heroine was very much a Mary Sue.

Also they go on and on about how she's not skinny, she loves eating burgers and hates exercise, how she's a woman with meat on her bones etc, she's 10lbs overweight...then she mentions she's 5'9 and 137lbs. What?? that's a bmi of 20. she'd have to be 170lbs to be considered overweight.

Also the plot seemed a little too crazy and "end of the whole world" without any actual reason to be. Very "every evil organization coming together for the common evil" kinda crazy. Just seemed too far fetched and too much to ask for the suspension of disbelief.

So.. I'd give this a pass unless you're looking for very corny, stereotypical romance.

Let this one go. I first read the description and was intrigued, then the book. First of all, the author did such a good job making the characters unlivable that it was inconceivable that they could fall for each other. This book was also pretty misogynistic. There was food shaming and talking about how the female lead is 10 lbs overweight at 137 and 5’9. What? Then our hero threatened to punch the heroine. I didn’t finish the last hour of the audiobook. I realized I didn’t care and the forced, SERIOUSLY forced instalove just left me underwhelmed. Save yourself from the Cinderman.

This was a bit of a rough read for me as I really did not care for either character. The H was a complete jerk who only cared about himself and the h is willing to break the law to get a story.

I kept waiting for the story to zero in on a conclusion but it was convoluted and I found myself not caring how it turned out or who the bad guys were.

The writing is good as is the flow of the story which is why I gave it 3 Stars.
