About this audiobook
Her last job won't be a day at the beach.
Harper Barton has one reason and one reason only to be in Colombia, and it isn't for fun in the sun. As an expert in "acquiring" antiquities, she's been tasked with collecting a valuable necklace from a gala. The problem? A drug kingpin wants the piece for himself, and won't let a cat burglar get in his way.
Diego Morales is in Colombia doing research for his next book. The mild-mannered professor was expecting dusty books and boring lecture halls, not a beautiful woman sweeping him onto the dance floor and planting a kiss on him before being chased out of the building by armed guards.
Harper and Diego find themselves neck-deep in trouble when they're kidnapped by the drug kingpin, but things go from bad to worse when they both go overboard and end up lost in the middle of the Colombian jungle. Can they stay alive long enough to get home? Can they stop fighting long enough to realize there's more than just jungle heat simmering between them?
Off the Map is high-stakes adventure with spark, snark, and plenty of danger.
Editor's Note
Rom-Com Suspense...
Like Janet Evanovich’s “Stephanie Plum” series, Dean’s “Off the Map” combines high-risk action with plenty of snark and wit. This is a page-turner, whether you want to find out if the two protagonists survive or when they’ll finally kiss.
Sierra Dean
Sierra Dean is the kind of adult who forgot she was supposed to grow up. She spends most of her days making up stories, and most of her evenings watching baseball or playing video games. She lives in Winnipeg, Canada with two temperamental cats and one sweet tempered dog. When not building new worlds, she can be found making cupcakes and checking Twitter.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book. I loved the plot, it was exciting. Harper is so sassy. She got Diego in trouble and then decided to save him. He went from hating her to being protective. It was awesome to read about their survival in rainforest. I wish there was more in the end about their relationship.

The back story... The h needs an escape after stealing a necklace and uses the H to hide from the guards. She gets away but their paths cross again with the bad guys after both of them.
The Romance... Seemed more like lust as they bickered most of the time.
The drama explosion... The bad guy catches up with them.
Did it feel Real, OK or contrived? A bit contrived
Was it OTT? Very
Separation involved? No
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Ok
Final Notes... There is a scene that leads to the dramatic moment that the h demands to do something designed to get them both killed. Once the baddy is in front of her, she continues to piss him off and pays for it. Her picture needs to be added to the urban dictionary as the photo fit TSTL.
I like SD's stories but this one had a bit too much on the internal dialog side. The story is a fun adventure but you definitely need to suspend belief to read it.
