I WISH people would stop having a go at Liz Truss for being the worst Prime Minister we’ve ever had. Admittedly she catastrophically crashed the economy and sent interest rates and mortgages through the roof, leading to debt that we’ll be paying off for decades to come, but she probably did some very good things too. Nothing springs to mind at the minute, but I really can’t believe she was as bad as everyone in the country – including the people in her own party who voted her into the post – say she was.

IT SEEMS to me that the major advantage of print media over web content is that with print, the reader is not deluged with aggressive advertising. This is why I always enjoy reading my print copy of Viz with a nice cup of tea and a shortbread biscuit, unencumbered by unwanted adverts. But not just any shortbread biscuit. A Barbara’s Orkney Shortbread, with its sweet, oaty taste and delicious crumbly texture is the only one for me. Yes, Barbara’s Shortbread. Much nicer than Morag’s Shetland Shortbread, which is fucking horrible.
