About this audiobook
Investigating a noise in the attic of her historic home, Maggie Holliday encounters a handsome man in a Civil War uniform. He calls her "Isabel", seduces her in ways the shy academic had never dreamed of, then literally vanishes.
With every fleeting visit, Maggie's mysterious lover, Ethan, takes her closer to the edge of ecstasy and madness. Is he really a ghost? Far from chilling her, his touch is incendiary; it all feels so real and so very, very good. And so very familiar.
Ethan insists Maggie's the reincarnation of his long-lost love. And after a few incredible nights in his arms, Maggie is inclined to believe him. But does she dare surrender to a passion that transcends time, tragedy, and even death?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5WOW. Just wow. I do wish the ending had a bit more of a supernatural ending... It seems like there could have been a lot more done with it. All in all, super good read.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really unique, I found myself captivated more and more by this love story as the audio book progressed.
I am not always a huge fan of the 'recommended' reads/listens but this one caught me by surprise. You have to get past what would be the equivalent of the first 100 pages but if you give it a chance I think you will like it's different take on the romance novel and ***tiny spoiler --not so typical ending - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This one was really good. Definitely a tear jerker at times. Maggies character got on my nerves a bit but it had to be so the story could flow. Ethan was just the best.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A really decent book. The story is strong and I kind of enjoyed the not quite perfect ending with a twist thing....I think the narrator could have been improved.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love this book! Never hated a bad guy more than Richard. So happy that everything works out.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Story good, narrator not so hot. It wasn’t my favourite ending, but then I always prefer “time travel” type stories to end one specific way, so this is a preference and not a reflection on the author.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The storyline definitely had me interested and portions of the story were very good. The ending was a bit strange but I actually was OK with how it played out.
I do enjoy Hope's stories and will continue to read them. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Not sure I would really like this book. But it turned out to be really good read
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Huge trigger warning for sexual assault, homophobia, mental health issues (being used to call a character crazy). I do not recommend this book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The storyline was good. The sex was overly descriptive for my taste.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Beyond cheesy. Non of the event that happens in this story make any sense.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The narrator was just awful and was not able to listen beyond the first chapter.
