About this audiobook

Electrician Sophie North felt as if she’d touched a live wire the first time she laid eyes on Tyler Barnes. He had a heartbreaking grin, an incredible body, and a thousand watts of cowboy charm. Half the single women in Brodie, Texas, were out to snag him now that he’d returned to West Texas to set up his veterinary practice.

But Sophie was just passing through. And she’d sworn never to live her life at the mercy of her passionate nature—not after passion had destroyed her family when she was a child. Nevertheless, every time Tyler came near her response was shocking, which wasn’t supposed to happen. Lightning was only supposed to strike once!

Editor's Note

Sexy Scrabble…

A flirtatious veterinarian (half the county wants him) lights sparks with a nomadic engineer who’s sworn not to let herself be ruled by passion. But then they play a sexy Scrabble game, feelings start to arise, and all of a sudden she’s trying to figure out who she is and what she wants.

Alison Kent

Alison Kent was a born reader, but it wasn't until she reached 30 that she knew she wanted to be a writer when she grew up. Five years later, she made her first sale. Two years after that, she accepted an offer issued by the senior editor of Harlequin Temptation live on the 'Isn't It Romantic?' episode of CBS's 48 Hours. The resulting book, Call Me, was a Romantic Times finalist for Best First Series Book.

This is a falling in love storyline with cowboy the dog

    Meh.

Second book in the series and I can honestly say I now understand why I was so lost/confused in the beginning of each book. For some reason, this authors writing doesn’t convey the thoughts or motives well enough for me, especially in the beginning of the relationships. To me it felt choppy and unrealistic. I kept rewinding thinking I must have missed something but I hadn’t.

I wrote it off the first time, but having experienced it again with this book, I see it wasn’t a fluke. Not sure if I will read more from this author, but if I do, it won’t be this series.

Also, the narrator wasn’t the best. Not the worst I’ve heard but not the best.

Heat rating 4-5 out of 10 for anyone who wants to know.

This book was boring. Absolutely nothing happens, except boy meets girl….

I honestly loved this story, I wish it was longer and had more depth or an epilogue or something

Loved it. However it just ended. I would have liked an epilogue or another book.

    3.75 Stars for me!

I liked the story and the build up of the relationship even though it was instalust between the MCs. Parts of the story did drag a bit for me although I know that others like the angst and details. The Heat level started strong, then very little until the last 25% of the story. Definitely worth the read.

the story was great and the narration was great but the air behind the narrator drove me crazy. When the narration stopped it was crystal clear and quiet but as soon as the narrator started you could hear a humming air sound in the background

Love the story and characters! I would have give it 5 stars if it would have had an epilogue. The way both these books in this series ended is very abrupt. At least with this book you get to see into future and get your epilogue for the first book. Also I feel like the front covers for these two books should be switched around according to the descriptions of characters. Seems silly maybe but things like the covers not matching the description of characters bothers me greatly. I would have liked a third book maybe with Judd finally finding his lost love that could have served as a epilogue for the whole series? I actually like the second story better myself. Anyway the narration for both books was good.
