About this audiobook

She's got a debt to pay and he holds the IOU...

Ben Tannen was the undisputed leader of his high school band known as the Deck. He was the Ace. Heidi Malone was the Joker and the only female among the five. All four men were half in love with her—Ben maybe more than half.

Still, there had always been a certain tension between the Golden Boy and Heidi-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-tracks. And his offer of money for her college tuition didn't go over so well. She lashed out with her pride—and a bicycle chain.

Fifteen years later, Heidi still owes Ben an apology, and he still holds her IOU. He plans to collect and prove to her that they'd make much better lovers than fighters.

Author

Alison Kent

Alison Kent was a born reader, but it wasn't until she reached 30 that she knew she wanted to be a writer when she grew up. Five years later, she made her first sale. Two years after that, she accepted an offer issued by the senior editor of Harlequin Temptation live on the 'Isn't It Romantic?' episode of CBS's 48 Hours. The resulting book, Call Me, was a Romantic Times finalist for Best First Series Book.

I enjoyed the book and did not mind the jumping in time as other reviewers mentioned. I can understand that she was so tormented about her past.

Didn’t listen all the way through just kept going round in circles repetitively and you’re like when is something going to happen.

All over the place and a bit hard to follow. It’s well-written and the story would be quite sweet, but the beginning lacks substance to draw you into the story. I’m glad I listened to the audio, otherwise I likely wouldn’t have finished.

I didn’t think the sex scenes were as good I’ve come to expect from this author. also the story line jumped back and forth from present to past happenings way too many times .

It's a good read but it's too much reflecting on the past...it just kept jumping back and forth...alittle drawn out but overall good read

I will be avoiding books narrated by Ivy Petersen. Lifeless reading.

The story line was ok. It jumped to the past to much for my liking.

I really wanted to like this story more but the h was completely self-absorbed throughout the entire story. She had a few light moments but she kept that huge chip on her shoulder and disregarded the people who cared about her. She has become a successful attorney yet still acted like the world conspired against her.

I would have loved for her to start thawing at the 40-50% mark and start learning how she was her own worst enemy while growing up.

The H had his issues as well but you could see his growth throughout the story.

I couldn’t finish it. I listened to the first 6 chapters and started over thinking I must have missed something while I was doing chores while listening. Nope, it was too wordy about “nothing”. I think the author got stuck trying to develop the story and was caught in her own circular pattern when jumping back and forth between timelines.

Some things are just classic, in the spirit of everything has a time and place. Think Pretty in Pink with a lot patience. But some things are worth the wait and age like fine wine.
