Who can you TRUST?

She wasn’t supposed to be on her own. It was the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, and the support they were supposed to have sent her still hadn’t arrived. Typical!

Penny sat at her till and glared angrily through the reinforced glass at the dark forecourt outside, with its rows of silently waiting petrol pumps. Somebody seemed to have forgotten that this late-night garage had been held up three times in the past year. Somebody had forgotten she was not supposed to be there on her own. Somebody, she decided, was going to get a good tongue-lashing when he finally turned up.

Her dark musings were abruptly halted when a car pulled in. Its motor stopped and its headlights blinked off. Penny peered out. Was this the guy she was supposed to be on duty
