Description
Today on Raising Healthy Mothers I'm introducing the concept of the Wheel of Motherhood as a means to prioritise yourself as a mother. This is a tool I often use for my clients and for myself too, to work out the areas of life that need to be prioritised to bring some balance in life. Often mums find themselves at the bottom of the list of priorities, a shift that often happens as soon as baby is born - and doesn't shift back. As a result you might find yourself becoming resentful, notice your ability to cope is reduced, your resilience to face challenges is worse and you have difficulty making decisions. This can have a knock on effect on sleep, maintaining a healthy weight or hormonal balance. And over time this can lead to more serious concerns such as depression, anxiety and other serious chronic diseases. In this episode I'm going to talk about: The 8 sections of the Wheel of Motherhood Why each is important How and when to use this tool To download the Wheel of Motherhood and a worksheet to guide you, click here. I encourage you to use this tool periodically and regularly to assess your priorities and work out what you need to work on next. Busy Mum?
