Sometimes the best way to learn how to succeed in different aspects of life is to look to those who have already achieved what you’re looking to do yourself. By looking at the success stories of people who have already made it, you can figure out what you need to change in your life to get what you want. You can also use those stories as motivation to keep going down the road you’re already on.
When you collectively look at success stories, you may notice patterns or common habits that are attributed to an individual’s success. This is important because those patterns show you things that you can do on your own to help you succeed.
In general, some of the common habits that successful people share are the following:
• Daily mindfulness or meditation
• Listening to one song repeatedly for improved focus
• Completing “spec” work before making proposals
• Using weaknesses as a competitive advantage
There may be other patterns and common habits that are seen across the board when you read more success stories, too. Remember, not everything will work for everyone, but it might be worth it to note any patterns you see across success stories and try to work those things into your daily life. Success is also relative, and you should really think about your own definition of the word as you try to move forward.
Two Principles for Success
The first thing to remember is that success is achievable. There have been others who have gotten to where you’re trying to go, making it clear that you can do the same if you try and put in the work. This doesn’t mean that you can’t blaze your own path and succeed in something that no one else has, however. Think about those successful people who are considered trailblazers in their industry, like Walt Disney; they built their own empires and paved the way for others to do similar things. Such trailblazers show that any form of success is possible as long as you work and push forward.
The second thing to keep in mind is that all of these people who you’re looking up to are simply human beings like yourself. They might be larger than life in your mind, but the truth of the matter is that all of them are imperfect. They learned how to use their own flaws to their benefit. People who succeed in their endeavors aren’t where they are because they don’t have weaknesses but because they learned how to use their strengths properly and focused on harnessing their abilities instead of harping on their weakness.
This book aims to use success stories of known professionals to help you find your motivation or give you ideas on what you can do to help you achieve your own success. You’ll also find tips, tricks, and other actionable things that you can do that have been developed based on common habits and patterns that have appeared in multiple success stories.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5In no way was that a Summary of Tools of Titans. It merely gave one or more of the thoughts by those he interviewed in each area of the book. Again no summaries or highlights. Merely a few distilled comments on a given area by 3 or 4 people in each area. The book is 900 pages and a gazillion people are interviewed. Don't waist your book credits on this one.
