I have been involved in the business of fitness for the better part of my life. I have seen many fad
diets come and go and books sold in record numbers both with promises of a better body, a new you
and countless other milestones reached…all in record time.
I realized pretty early on that providing people with diets to lose weight was a never ending struggle that few, if any, could follow to completion. Why, I wondered…was it so difficult for people to stick to a program that would ultimately lead them to their goal?
As I trained hundreds of clients throughout the years, I started to figure out that it was a MENTAL challenge more than a physical one, and that if people had the means to do it themselves, they probably wouldn't be in the position they were to begin with.
People generally don't lack MOTIVATION, they lack EDUCATION, PREPARATION, and IMPLEMENTATION.
First and for most, diets simply do NOT work. Oh sure, they may work temporarily…but don’t address the most important issue, METABOLISM. Only a solid eating plan can help increase the body’s metabolic rate. If there is a sure fire way to DECREASE metabolism, its the fad diet…reducing calories, cutting down on meals, not eating after a certain time, all guaranteed to backfire. The quicker one becomes more educated to what DOESN’T work, the faster you can focus on what DOES.
Being prepared is paramount to changing the way someone looks at eating. You must be prepared mentally to change the old school way of thinking that a temporary diet will change your body for life…it won’t. Learning to eat PROPERLY will insure long term results and having a program in place will set you on your way.
Working out has become a must and go hand in hand with a proper eating program. People work, have kids, homes to take care of, etc…so its no secret that most don’t have hours to be in a gym. Luckily, you don't have to anymore. Tailoring a workout to YOUR needs is the answer and working out SMARTER, not HARDER.

Every time we turn around there is a new diet being touted as THE DIET
, the one to end all other diets. Let’s see we have the Cabbage Soup Diet, The Carb Lovers Diet, the Morning Banana Diet, Personality Type Diet, Cookie Diet, Cheater’s Diet, Fruit Flush Diet, French Women Don’t Get Fat Diet and the list goes on. I am not saying that the Fad-Free program is THE DIET
either; because it is not. This program is not a diet – period. It is pure common sense nutrition and exercise backed by proven scientific research. There are no amusing gimmicky names, hence the title Fad-Free
. While cute titles help sell books – FAD DIETS DO NOT WORK in the long run. The old school method of dieting meant reducing calories, restricting meals and essentially starving the body to lose weight. Trouble is, people never bothered to learn (or care) WHERE the weight was coming from...so while weight
