About this ebook

There are thousands of books on how to exercise. How many tell you how not to exercise and why? Not everyone can perform the exercises that professional athletes do without risking injury. Thats why the average busy person will last only about one to two weeks on an exercise program before giving up. The programs are either too intense or too long in duration. The average businessperson or home maker has very little flexibility in time and less opportunity to learn how exercises are to be done or not done. This book provides exercise programs that will provide results quickly without pushing the envelope of safety. Eddie Velazquez, certified medical representative and 4th degree Black Belt in Karate, shows you how, with a busy career and family life, you can still attain a fit and healthy body without sacrificing your personal and business life. Enjoy your life with a vibrant body that will make you not be afraid to join the fun just because youre past 35, 40, or beyond. Youre never too old to start exercising as long as you know how to exercise correctly. Be smart, train smart. Smart Muscle will get you started.

    PURPOSE

Time is a resource. Like many of the other resources, (such as) money, food, water, and air, time has to be managed. The average businessperson or busy person struggles to achieve the work that needs to be done. Of the many resources, time is the one which cannot be increased. There are only 24 hours in each day. During those 24 hours you are expected to work, have a career, sleep, eat, have a spouse, maybe maintain a household, spend quality time with family and friends, and rest. With all of these goals and responsibilities, when does one exercise to develop the kind of body that is presented to us on the television? You know the one, the businessman with the broad shoulders and trim, muscular waist. Or the career woman who, with two kids, is a great cook, and happens to have the perfect hairstyle and Cindy Crawford body. Society and the media are especially cruel to the women of this world.

The purpose of this book is to provide a total physical training system that is effective, safe, and geared towards the busy person who is not a professional athlete and does not have a lot of free time to devote to exercise. This training system is for the 30 and over person who needs to improve his or her health and physical shape while having a balanced lifestyle. It is not for the teenager who recuperates so quickly after strenuous exercise, or the professional athlete looking for the latest cutting edge advantage for his or her sport.

This book and training system is written and developed by a businessperson with a wife, children, career, and a house with a mortgage. It is not a written by a professional athlete, bodybuilder, or personal trainer. Most training programs presented in other books require anywhere from 10-20 hours per week and consists of routines more suited for today’s Olympic athletes or athletes using steroids or other performance enhancing drugs. After almost 15 years of researching and experimenting with different exercise regimens and theories, I have found that most are devised by
