Description

Imagine living a healthy, active life and having an unexpected diagnosis that turns everything you know about health on it's head... and you don't even have symptoms! That was Allie Hobson's story of discovering she had Hashimotos, an Autoimmune thyroid disease that was one of the catalysts to the work she does today- helping women create a healthier life through balancing their hormones, thyroid, gut health and more. In this episode, she shares her unique experience with being diagnosed with hashimotos, what autoimmune disease means, how she's managed it- even during the pre-and postpartum stages, how she's learned to give herself grace as a new mama, and how she embraces a beautifully un-balanced life.About Allie:Allie is a Certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, focusing on holistic nutrition, lab testing and natural healing solutions. She became a nutritionist because she was inspired by her own health journey after dealing with Amenorrhea and struggling to start a family. Along that path she discovered that she was dealing with thyroid autoimmunity, adrenal stress and a cascade of hormonal imbalances. Through the healing power of food, supplements, Chinese medicine and other holistic modalities, Allie was able to overcome and manage these health challenges and now is the Mama to her baby boy Asher, who just turned 15 months old.  As an FNTP, she is trained to provide programs and protocols to assist individuals in achieving their health goals. She works to assess individual nutritional deficiencies using the body's innate intelligence, coupled with cutting edge lab testing as a Certified Restorative Wellness Practitioner. Allie primarily focuses on women’s health and specializes in gut dysfunction, thyroid dysregulation, post birth control syndrome and pre-natal nutrition.  In addition to being a stay at home Mom, Allie runs her own business, Allie Hobson Wellness, and works as a Nutritionist at two San Diego clinics, focusing on holistic primary care and holistic recovery from substance abuse. When Allie is not working with patients or clients, she co-hosts a podcast called Nutrition-ish and partners as an advocate for safer skincare with Beautycounter.
