Ian Kidd

I grew up in South Yorkshire, England, before emigrating to South Australia at the age of sixteen. My writing ambitions began as a child, when I became notorious in my class for writing short horror stories that would probably have them calling in the child psychologists nowadays! I have written everything from non-fiction ebooks to published short fiction, and served as script editor on two proposed horror feature film scripts for an LA based director. In terms of fiction I have written dozens of novellas, including more than 70 stories in the "Ian's Gang" sci-fi adventure series. I still live in Queensland, where I work as a freelance writer.

Oh, it is, Ian waggled his eyebrows at her mischeivously. Tons and tons and tons of blood 'n' guts. Just as a horror movie should be.

The Sun Cinema were having a horror festival, with Halloween just two days away, and tonight's choice was a screening of the late 20th century classic Scream. Ian and Rebecka had chosen to go to the movies as one of their attempts to have some one on one brother and sister time.

Oh, stop it, Rebecka mock-complained, with a smile. Ian smiled back.

Almost two hours later, Ian and Rebecka were exiting the theatre, laughing and joking.

I couldn't believe the bit with the cameraman in the van, Rebecka exclaimed. It made me jump so much!

I know, Ian complained ruefully. You made me spill my Coke all over me.

Oh, is that what it was? Rebecka teased. I thought perhaps you’d gotten a little too scared, if you know what I mean.

You little minx, Ian said, mock-appalled.

They headed to their car, laughing at each other. Ian opened her door for her.

    "Thank you,
