I grew up in South Yorkshire, England, before emigrating to South Australia at the age of sixteen. My writing ambitions began as a child, when I became notorious in my class for writing short horror stories that would probably have them calling in the child psychologists nowadays! I have written everything from non-fiction ebooks to published short fiction, and served as script editor on two proposed horror feature film scripts for an LA based director. In terms of fiction I have written dozens of novellas, including more than 70 stories in the "Ian's Gang" sci-fi adventure series. I still live in Queensland, where I work as a freelance writer.

CHAPTER ONE

The persistent ringing of his watch-phone woke Ian Williams. Blearily, the curly-haired sixteen year old reached for it on his bedside cabinet, only to remember it was still in the lounge, him having taken it off last night in a particularly rowdy game of Strip Poker. Ian hadn't even known how to play Poker, let alone Strip Poker, and Matthew's vague 'rules' seemed to change every few minutes so that Matthew didn't have to take anything off, but Ian did. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) Cody was an ace at Poker, and therefore not only did not have to take off any of her own clothes, but had given him enough tips to preserve at least some of his dignity. Mind you, as grateful as he was for Cody's help, it did make him wonder whether she'd ever want to see him dignity-less.

Clad in his red and white striped pyjamas, he left his bedroom hesitantly, heading for the lounge

Cody opened the door of her room and peered out. What's going on? she inquired sleepily.

Phone, Ian couldn't help but notice how fetching she looked in her pink dressing gown. Go back to bed. Ian entered the lounge and picked up the still bleeping watch-phone.

Matthew stormed out of his room into the lounge. What fucking time do you call this to wake a King up in the morning?

Er - Ian looked at the watch, it's 11:55 am. Jesus, it's practically lunchtime!

Well, we did stay up 'til two in the morning, Matthew chuckled, watching you get pissed.

Hardly. I don't drink, remember? Ian reminded him.
