About this audiobook

For the past couple years Laurel’s been coasting, hiding in the backseat while her life drifts off course. Then one summer afternoon a tall, built bruiser named Flynn strides in and steers her straight into an infatuation she never saw coming.

Flynn introduces Laurel to things she’s never imagined—to the violent but exciting realm of the underground boxing circuit, to rough sex and even rougher role-playing, and to an attraction she craves even as it intimidates her. As Flynn invites her deeper into his world and his life, Laurel has to make a choice—let fear keep her holed up where it’s safe, or take a chance and fight for the man who makes her feel more alive than she’d dreamed possible.

Reader Advisory: This book contains consensual but intense rape role-playing scenes that some may find upsetting.

Editor's Note

Dark and Dangerous...

McKenna’s “Willing Victim” is a dark dubcon romance, but it’s also a tender story about two broken souls finding one another. The book is told entirely from the heroine’s point of view, and you fall in love with Flynn, the gruff, protective hero, as she does. McKenna’s writing is grittily precise and highly erotic.

I loved this book, mostly because it felt like it could have been real. No undying love from first sight or marriage proposal after 3 weeks. Steamy, sweet and naughty. Can't wait to listen to the next book

This is my second book by the author and again the big hits for me were that the story was angst-free, and that the kinky may sound controversial and dark but the story is anything but and neither the MCs. The narrator did great in both the voices too. I really enjoyed the story.

I loved the narrator. ❤️❤️❤️ She did a wonderful job bringing the two characters to life. Loved the story too. And the spice?️?️?️?️?️. Oh, the spice.

But the Boston accent… it sound genuine to me and I just hated it. Lol. Like fingernails on chalkboard. ?????That just means the narrator did an awesome job.

I would highly recommend this one. But just beware. Expect the unsexy Boston sounds. ??

What an excellent story. Well-written, raw and real. I loved how open both characters were about how they felt and how they talked through what was going on in their heads, even with all the naughtiness going on.

Well damn. It started rough - the middle was good - and the ending was wtf. There's hot sex, and some insinuation that love might happen, but they never get to that part.

I really didn't see the brutality or intensity of the sexual violence fantasy that the author was selling to us. Except for the voyeuristic part, the bedroom scenes were very close to vanilla TBH. I however really liked Flynn and Laurel. I think they were honest and brave and willing to give love a shot. The author managed to also address some pertinent issues like ADHD, Depression etc. It was steamy yet also thought provoking.
