About this audiobook

Owen Isaacs loves his job as a teacher at Dennington Junior High School, and he's even more thrilled when his students ask him to be faculty adviser for a Gay-Straight Alliance. The one big problem? The only person willing to be his co-adviser is the new coach and PE teacher, a hardcore sports guy who Owen heard make a homophobic comment on the first day of school.

Nate Wildflower didn't intend to make an enemy of one of his fellow teachers on his first day at a new school. It's not his fault that people misinterpreted his comment about the downside of the alphabet soup of gender and sexuality labels and wouldn't let him explain himself. Nate's gay, for heaven's sake! But apparently people in a small town are quick to stick people in boxes — did he mention how labels can be problematic? But he's not going to deprive the students of a GSA just because Owen Isaacs seems determined to hold a completely unfounded grudge.

When they're forced to work together, Owen starts to realize that Nate is maybe not as much of a jerk as he thought, and for his part Nate finds Owen's enthusiasm and passion endearing. But Nate is cautious while Owen is impatient, and their mutual attraction is plagued by missteps and misunderstandings. If romance were a class, they might just both fail the final exam.

I liked the novella but I didn't like the voice because it sounded like AI

This was really cute only problem is I didn’t realize it was a short so that was my bad. It definitely felt like the first third of a full book but again my fault for not seeing that. I want more of them! I want to live more in their world. Love it.

One of the worst narrators I’ve ever heard. Never again

Would have been good if the narrator changes their voice per character. Also, the narrator sounds emotionless all through out the story.

Audiobook sounds like it was generated using an AI program. Poor inflection, odd pauses and strange accent.

Book might be good but horrible narrator ruins the story

The story is fine, but the narrator ruined it. He would start. Each. Sentence. Unbelievably. Slowly. Andthensaytherestofthesentenceinarush. For every single sentence. It was really hard to keep listening to it.

The story started out strong but for something this short I don't think the sex scene needed to be as long as it was.

The narration makes this almost unlistenable. It almost sounds like an AI voice in places. Strange pacing, weird inflections, pronunciations that sound just a bit off.

It ended abruptly…I think I blinked and missed the one sex scene.

Loved the story, it was so sweet! The only stopping it receiving 5 stars is the narrator. He is so not good, rushes some words that they jumble together then slows his speach again.
