About this audiobook

Matt’s come a long way from the hyper-masculine jerk he was fifteen years ago. He never expected to love his step-son so fiercely, or to agree with his now ex-wife that divorce was the right choice for both of them. He should be less surprised that he’s happy he moved back to his hometown of Blue Bell and sells homemade pies at the local farmer’s market. So when his first impression with his neighbor completely tanks, Matt’s determined to be cordial.

Heath is surly and distrustful of Matt at first, but their mutual interest in baking grows into friendship. Matt loves Heath’s playful and relaxed nature, the way his eyes sparkle when he talks about his bees. Matt’s never looked at a man the way he looks at Heath, or has felt so comfortable around anyone. Confused by his thoughts and more of his new friend, unsure and falling hopelessly in love with his neighbor, Matt doesn’t know what to do. Caught off guard by his growing feelings for Heath, can Matt keep from ruining the best friendship of his life?

The story is sweet but not very well written. There are so many very short sentence, it drives me crazy. The narrator is not the best either. Seems like he is reading a math manual.

The narrator of the audiobook made me give up listening to this. Their voice sounded like an AI robot. I hope a new audiobook is recorded for this story.

Not bad. Overall, it was ok. I wouldn’t recommend it to others but I also wouldn’t discourage others from reading.

This was just a super sweet little love story. No spice, just sweetness

Unfortunately I couldn't get past the most monotone yet obnoxiously fast reading to truly give the story a chance

I really enjoyed this book! Ray Jericho did a really good job performing this story! I thoroughly enjoyed his narration.

I'm glad Heath and Matt got together.

I read this book on June 19th, 2022.

The way it switches who's narrating but stays in 3rd person makes it difficult to keep the details of the 2 main characters straight in my head. Especially since the two are so similar in so many ways. The narrator sounds... off putting. There's no real inflections or obvious voice changes as the narrator changes.

I loved the content of the story, but honestly the reading was awful. If you can get past the reading it’s a good book.

I really wanted to love this book but I just didn’t. The story concept is absolutely adorable! I think the audio reader made it difficult to fall in love with it.

Narrator sounds computer generated, just no emotion at all other than “generic enthusiastic American”. I’ll read the ebook instead.

Cute story, but the narrator sounded very robotic, so it was hard to enjoy
