About this audiobook

You’ve Got Mail meets The Proposal—this romance is one for the books.

Savannah Cade’s dreams are coming true. The Claire Donovan, editor-in-chief of the most successful romance publishing company in the country, has requested to see the manuscript Savannah’s been secretly writing. The only problem: she’s an editor for a different company, and their philosophy is only highbrow works are worth printing and romance should be reserved for the lowest level of Dante’s inferno.

But when Savannah drops her manuscript during a staff meeting and nearly exposes herself to the whole company—including William Pennington, the new boss and son of the romance-despising CEO herself—she has no choice but to hide the manuscript in a hidden room.

When she returns, she’s dismayed to discover that someone has not only been in her hidden nook but has written notes in the margins—quite critical ones. But when Claire’s own reaction turns out to be nearly identical to the scribbled remarks, and worse, Claire announces that Savannah has six weeks to resubmit before she retires, Savannah finds herself forced to seek the help of the shadowy editor after all.

As their notes back and forth start to fill up the pages, however, Savannah finds him not just becoming pivotal to her work but her life. There’s no doubt about it: she’s falling for her mystery editor. If she only knew who he was.

Meet Me in the Margins is a delightfully charming jewel of a book that fans of romantic comedy won’t be able to put down!” — Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times bestselling author of Under the Southern Sky

Although I hadn’t read anything by this author before, the synopsis sounded great and had invested in the story almost immediately.

Unfortunately, it did seem to drag a little in the middle, but overall, a nice romantic comedy set in a fantastic publishing company! I want to visit that ARC room and leave with every copy!

The theme of books, bookworms and writing had me hooked. The narration was not the greatest but enjoyable, perfect for a summer read/listen for book lovers everywhere!

The only character who was fully fleshed out was the main character. In order to enjoy this book the reader must believe the main character is both intelligent enough to win her new boss’s listening ear, while simultaneously being so dim that she can’t immediately tell who her mystery editor is. She has a whole “new word a day” thing, but often speaks in cliches. A quick listen if you’re looking for something to can read while folding laundry.

I really enjoyed the story of Savannah and Will. A lot of beginning story, nice build up, and reminds me of a Hallmark movie feel. And I love when authors tie the title of the book into the story! Very cute and overall enjoyable read.

3.75 - 3.75 - A few tweaks an I could have given this a 4 or even a 5. I needed more resolved between Savannah and her family, a bit more side character action, and a maybe a teensy bit more personality from Will. BUT all that being said, I still flew through book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend. Also, not smutty at all - could be a pro or a con depending on what you like in a book.

This book was so funny and sweet! I adored it! It made me laugh out loud several times. Yes it was fairly predictable, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want out of a rom-com. My only criticism is that I wish there had been some spice!

Predictable, but lovely. So refreshing to have a clean romance novel based on getting to know each other vs just sex and profanity! I flew through this book.

A fantastic funny tale of a girl in the midst of writing her first novel while juggling with being seen as the ugly duckling by her family, mostly replaceable at work and barely adequate as a writer. On top of it all, the son of the CEO of the publishing house she works at has come to start working on it and a mysterious person is secretly editing her manuscript. How is everything intertwining?

It's a cute story once you make it out of the first few chapters. They were a bit slow for me. But I really appreciated this sweet romance.

The narrator was uninspiring but perhaps that was also due to the boring material. The lead character babbled incessantly to the point of nausea.

A very cute and sweet romcom book! I love the play on the You Got Mail style, the notes on the manuscript and the lil plot-twist of who could be the Mystery Editor.

    I enjoyed my time listening!
