About this audiobook

""Nisha Sharma's Dating Dr. Dil is what would happen if you put all my favorite romantic comedy tropes into a blender: a frothy, snarky, hilarious treat with a gooey, heartwarming center. The perfect addition to any rom-com lover's shelf."" —Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author of People We Meet on Vacation

Nisha Sharma’s new romantic comedy features enemies to lovers, a cast of best friends, and a gaggle of aunties determined to make a match.

Hi! I’m Kareena Mann. As cheesy as it sounds, I’m looking for my soulmate. In four months. And he must gain the approval of my meddling aunties.

Kareena dreams of having a perfect love story like her parents did. That’s why on the morning of her thirtieth birthday, she’s decided to suit up and enter the dating arena. When her widowed father announces he’s retiring and selling their home after her sister’s engagement party, Kareena makes a deal with him. If she can find her soulmate by the date of the party, he’ll gift her the house, and she’ll be able to keep her mother’s legacy alive.

Hi, I’m Dr. Prem Verma, host of the Dr. Dil Show. Prem means love, Dil means heart, and I’m a cardiologist. Don’t let my name fool you. I only fix broken hearts in the literal sense.

Prem doesn’t have time for romance, which is why it’s no surprise when his first meeting with Kareena goes awry. Their second encounter is worse when their on-air debate about love goes viral. Now Prem’s largest community center donor is backing out because Prem's reputation as a heart-health expert is at risk. To get back in his donor’s good graces, he needs to fix his image fast, and dating Kareena is his only option.

Even though they have warring interests, the more time Prem spends with Kareena, the more he thinks she’s might actually be the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. In this Taming of the Shrew re-imagination, for Prem and Kareena to find their happily ever after, they must admit that hate has turned into fate.

“Bursting with character, spicy tension and laughs, Dating Dr. Dil is the enemies to lovers dream book!” —Tessa Bailey, New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Summer

The female narrator for this book has the most annoying voice. The male narrators voice was fine.

Kareena and Prem need things to happen in their life's and as a means to an end is the solution of working together presents itself.

I didn't love this book. But I did listen to the whole audiobook so it wasn't a complete loss.

    Concerning things for me:
--For the age of the characters, in their 30s, they were both fairly immature about what expectations they would have in life, and love.
--In the end I could have done without the named appendage.
--the librarian reference in relation to Poem's sexual fantasies, Kareena was a lawyer

    Topics I enjoyed:
--Aunties in action, mostly in the background but I love a good Auntie group.
    --Kareena's girlfriends
--the concept of Kareena doing home renovation and automotive care as a means to connect with her mother, and be self sufficient

THIS BOOK! It’s a new fav. Extra steamy, extra awesome South Asian experience. There are so many things to love! The feminist storyline, the quality friendships, the HOTTNESS…. I was sad when it ended.

This was the best romcom I have "read" in a while. Its full of the typical quirks that are present jn the South Asian community. I laughed and cried and had a great time. I already have other books by Nisha lined up. I am officially a fan.

Once I got past how reactive Kareena was and Dr. Dill's extremely old fashion comments I found the story hilarious in all the right places. The family dynamic and Indian culture were so captivating I could have listened to them for hours.

The story was unique from start to finish. The TV revolves around a Doctor that deals with love but doesn't believe in love himself and a nerdy heroine who needs to get engaged but only wants to get engaged for love. Initially, they clash left, right and centre but as they both have something to gain from a potential engagement they start to work out a plan. While being naked.

Along the way, it's funny seeing Kareena's dating failures because it highlights today's dating challenges and I laughed at each one. This also brought forward Dr. Dill's protective streak. It started to bring another layer to his character.

I enjoyed this overall. The main characters were likeable and I loved the Indian community and cultural backdrop. It had some good twists. I do wish it had been a bit shorter. I feel like it meandered a bit and could have tied up a bit neater, but again...it was enjoyable overall.

The narrator’s pronunciation is excruciating to listen to! She should have consulted a native Indian speaker on how to pronounce simple Hindi words like paratha, ghee, and dahi.

This is my first time listening/reading a book by this author. I really loved it. I hope she writes more especially about the main characters friends. Something was going on on there and I feel another good book coming. Great job on this book Nisha Sharma!

Find an interesting story. Great reading and interesting characters. Unfortunately the audiobook version has a lot of issues and bugs in it. Some chapter is skipped ahead or entire or what I’m assuming would be a paragraph where is skipped. The ending also does not finish on the audiobook. It seems like I’m gonna have to download the written version now to see how this book ended.
