About this audiobook

In this fresh romantic comedy from the author of Shipped, heralded as an “absolutely sparkling debut” by Entertainment Weekly, a woman wakes up from a car accident with memories of a boyfriend she’s never met...only to run into him a year later. Perfect for fans of Christina Lauren and Rebecca Serle.

What would you do if your dream man turned out to be real?

When law grad Cass Walker wakes up after surviving a car accident, she is flooded with memories of a man named Devin. The only problem? Devin—as confirmed by family, friends, and doctors—doesn’t exist. Everything about him, from his coffee-brown eyes to the slightly crooked angle of his pinkie to his high-wattage charm, is a figment of Cass’s coma-addled imagination. Still, she can’t get him out of her head.

So when she happens upon the real Devin a year later in a Cleveland flower shop, she’s completely shocked. Even more surprising is that Devin actually believes her story, and despite his protective younger brother’s doubts, they soon embark on a real-life romance. With her dream man by her side and a new job at a prestigious law firm, Cass’s future seems perfect. But fate might have other plans...

From the beloved author of Shipped comes a magical and witty romantic comedy that explores what happens when our dreams come true—even when they’re not the ones we expect.

Audio kept cutting out in multiple chapters. I did not make it through the full book because of this issue. Story line is predictable.

Very good narrator. This was such a good story and not your typical romance. I would classify it more as women's fiction or contemporary. Low steam so go in knowing that this story works on the strength of its characters and its plot. The ending was very satisfying. Overall I thought it was an interesting and entertaining read that definitely gave me the feels.

I kind of hated this. I had to turn the audiobook to 1.8x to get through it. I hated the characters. It was kind of predictable somehow even with such an interesting premise. I think I’m giving up on this author at this point.

No issue with the narrator though.

I just read a one star review whose whole complaint was how unrealistic everything in this book was.

HELLO, MAY I INTRODUCE YOU TO ROMCOMS?! :D

Sorry, I digress-- it just sort of cracked me up...

    ANYWAY....

My main complaint about this book was the efforts made to ROOT it in reality, namely, all the legal mumbo jumbo and stuff about her career. But I just skimmed past all that!

This plot was a super original concept, and while you might see twist #1 coming down the pike, and possibly guess at twist #2, you will NOT be able to predict twist #3!

I appreciated an H who was a divergence from the paint by numbers alpha millionaire type....and since I enjoy watching a romance develop on the basis of friendship, I didn't mind the slow burn aspect here. That said, I also didn't mind the heat brought by the epilogue, either! If you're not into explicit sex stuff, just skip the epilogue, and you're good!

Did this book live up to the promise of "Shipped"? Eh....probably not. But I found it sweet and compelling enough, and was really rooting for her to pick the (obviously) "right" guy.

My true rating is probably 3.5 stars, but as I could see myself circling back around to this book at some point, I'll round up to 4.
