About this audiobook

He’s not from around here…

Davies McKellan is a man without a true home. The cocky mining contractor navigator has spent his entire adult life roaming the stars and refusing to be tied down by anyone.

But that doesn’t come without cost. Like loneliness.

When Davies makes his first run to the planet Pfahrn, he meets Olarte, a Pfahrn who intrigues him in ways he never dreamed possible.

Except duplicity and deadly secrets are a killer combo that’ll make any man rethink his past. And if the eight-foot-tall green alien is Davies’ future, he might be down for that. He’s got priorities, though.

Like making sure they uncover the truth first, and don’t die in the process.

Editor's Note

Sexy Sci-Fi...

The second book in Richardson’s “Maxim Colonies” series features a cocky mining contractor who’s not interested in anything long term — until he meets an eight-foot-tall green alien. Hell, why not? Richardson’s rich, detailed writing makes it feel as though you too are living on a foreign planet.

I actually liked the story, it was better than just ok. But choosing voices for this was just weird. Just one guy could have easily red the whole book, because one of them was so much better in the story telling. I also founded it annoying that story line tells that one of the guys have deep baritone and when switching to his chapters reader has very high pitch reading voice, almost lady like. He is good reader, but not for this book. My imagination makes flip flops everytime the voice changed, like there was completely two different characters in one person, didn't help that it was was written to be they/them as plurar and not for example it.

I appreciated the growth you see with Davies over the course of their tone with Olart. A true friends to lovers story with all the attraction from the onset of the relationship.

This is a four. To my human emotional state, they got together too quickly and too slowly all at once. You'll understand what I mean when you read it. I also think there is just no way to love anyone more than Simon and Mohrn. They are my first loves, their story was just a bit more interesting, so was their bonding ritual.

Not gonna read the third one, it's weird thinking about simon's mom having sex, and the cover does not inspire inspiration to read the third book to be honest...

Not as good as Si and Morhn's story, but still worth a read.

A very enjoyable series. My only complaint is there aren't more books. They are a slow burn with good characters that you get to know down to the bone. Clever fun romances. It ticked all my boxes of what l like in an audiobook with an excellent narrator. 5 stars totally recommend this book. Enjoy l know l did.

This book is so cute. I loved it so much. It's definitely going to be one of my comfort books. Davies was so starstruck after they meet that he waited 2 whole years for them. Just *swoon*.

I absolutely love this book as well. Their connection, their understanding of each other even though they're like two different species was just beautiful and the fact that he waited 2 years for him to get an answer was so beautiful and I'm glad they have got each other. but I'm still screaming at the ending like I wanted to know more
