About this audiobook

Being kidnapped by aliens is only the start of Jade's problems. Thankfully, her rescuers, an alien race known as the Clecanians, are willing to protect her, but she has to stay on their planet for one year and respect the rules of their culture-including choosing a husband. Jade refuses at first but decides to play along until she can find a way back to Earth.

Theo, a scarred mercenary who prefers a life of solitude, is stunned when Jade selects him as her husband. After years of being passed over, he never imagined he would be chosen and neither did anyone else. Only one explanation makes sense . . . the curvy enticing female must be a spy, and Theo's determined to break her cover using any means necessary.

As Jade and Theo are forced to spend time together, their chemistry becomes undeniable. But neither can afford to bring love into the equation, especially since Jade seems determined to go home. After all, she can't possibly stay here, right?

Contains mature themes.

Stephen Dexter did an excellent rendition for all characters.
I wish Authors would realize that more times then not, men do a much better job narrating.

I found myself constantly comparing this book to Ice Planet Barbarians because they are very similar. I think I prefer blue aliens better than their more human counter parts. Iykyk.

Absolutely loved this book. I really enjoyed Ruby Dixon’s Ice planet series, and found this similar but also VERY good! I’m excited to find a new author I very much enjoy!

Loved this book! The heroine wasn’t obnoxious or annoying. It’s fast moving & very steamy! There are 5 books in the series I believe, but this one is my favorite.

This book was truly fantastic! Alien theme's are not usually my bag, but this book was so well written that I was instantly transported into another world, and that's the talent of a great author, who can get you to love a genre that you usually didn't and make you thirst for more!
Everything about the alien planet was so believable and interesting that I would have taken a one way ticket to the Clecanian planet if I could, I think most women would! I'd had a bad day before starting this book and I'd shed a few tears, as well as throwing a pity party for one, but the book had me laughing out loud on so many occasions I was able to forget about my woes, in fact listening to this made me so happy I listened to the whole thing in one go! Stephen Dexter has now made it onto my top 10 narrator list, he was absolutely wonderful bringing the story and character's alive. I cannot think of one thing that I disliked about the book (aside from it ending!) I cannot wait to read the other 2 books in this series, and I will be following Victoria Aveline (and Stephen) very closely from now on!

I liked the plot and the characters. It was well written and I am going to read the next one right away. If I could have one thing at all it would be to have stories like this without the smut. I did skip those parts and it didn't affect the story in the least.

another twist to the alien romance. heroine is kidnapped from earth and as far as she knows, she was the only one taken. She finds out that they plan to arrange a marriage, in hopes of procreation. This was an interesting concept but what I really enjoyed was what I called the catwalk of men that the women got to see through the one way mirror. That was fun. The hero and heroine did not get along right away so it was not an insta romance, more like enemies to lovers. She was extremely strong and didn't take any of his crap so I liked that about her. He was a complete introvert and also very suspicious of everything. The way they bond and finally mate is very unusual but really hot. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

So this story had a lot of potential. If I could give 5 stars to the narrator alone, I would. He has an amazing voice and did a great job. Back to the book. Unfortunately, I have to read this entire series for work and I am not looking forward to it at all. I hope it gets better or I'm going to have a miserable time. #1 the author is very unrealistic about how an actual human being would feel about being abducted by aliens. That aspect should have been flashed out and it really should have had some sort of effect on the girl.

#2 I hated the main character. She had very unrealistic thinking towards her whole situation. She was also very demanding, needy, and whiny despite being an alien on a new planet. Also, the author did absolutely no character development on her. You find out her name, what she looks like, her political views, and that's all there is to her. She didn't feel like a real human being. The lack of character development was prevalent in the whole story though. You don't really get to know the male character either. It was all far too simplistic and superficial. I don't care if it is just a romance novel. If you're going for space opera series, you can't neglect the character development because it actually helps with the romance aspect. I had no idea why they were attracted to each other besides their looks.

#3 The politics. Many people complain about the politics and social justice nonsense in this book. It's annoying but definitely not the worst aspect of this book. I can tolerate bad takes because everyone has a right to their own opinion. If folks want to write about an unrealistic socialist dream planet, I really don't care so long as it is written well. This wasn't. All the time spent on social issues, feminism, genders, etc could have been spent developing a better plot or making the characters feel like actual people. Instead of telling me why people shouldn't be allowed to inherit from their parents and everything you have should be given to the government when you die, give me reasons to actually care about the characters. This girl was abducted from her planet. In reality, an actual human would be having some intense feeling about that. I doubt they'd care too much about spewing social justice rants when they are helpless, alone, and utterly lost in the galaxy.

It honestly felt like the only reason the guy was attracted to her was because she was the only woman to ever choose to marry him. You know, beggars can't be choosers. There was no other reason for the guy to like this girl. She has the personality of a block of cheese and the depth of an ant's rectum.

I would not suggest this book to anyone unless you really just want some very simplistic steam. The writer has no depth and not much creativity. However, the narrator has a very hot voice and that makes up for it. Listening to him is extremely enjoyable. I can only assume he was hired because they had to get someone with the voice of a God to sell this audiobook. The narrator is top notch. The book though, eh, it is good for those who just want to get off....especially with the great narrator.
