About this audiobook

When I went to my neighbor's apartment to investigate strange sounds, I never expected to fall through a portal into another world. Yet here I am, a stranger in an even stranger land . . . and I'm stranded. In this world, might makes right, men carry swords, and gods walk the earth. Within minutes of arriving, I'm enslaved.

The one person that might be able to help me is also the one person I want to throttle most. Aron, Lord of Storms, Butcher God of Battle, is my new companion. Or rather, I'm his. As Aron's anchor to the mortal realm, I'm the one that's supposed to be guiding him through his exile in the mortal world.

But Aron and I have a common goal-get home. And we're bonded-anchor and god-with a bond unlike any other. So we travel together. We bicker. We bathe together. We fight our many, many enemies together. And sure, he's a god, but he's also an arrogant jerk. Brawny, smoking hot, irresistible jerk. I should want nothing to do with him. I certainly shouldn't want to do things to him.

Contains mature themes.

Ok, but just. A lot of ranting, internal monologue. Will not go for the sequel.

I enjoyed it, but the narrator was not my favorite. This was my first real go at an audiobook, so I will admit that I know some of my misunderstandings or confusion of the plot/story was me adjusting to processing auditorially instead of visually, but I do feel like this book was a bit long for my liking. That being said, Aron is hilarious as the aspect of arrogance and the Citadel scene was *spicy*. I will give the next book a go to see how I like it.

Found this book boring, just couldn't get into it, also found narrator very monotonous. I love Ruby Dixon books, sadly not this one.

I love Ruby Dixon books. I listen to all that I can get my hands on. This book is so good! It's funny, the narrator is amazing, and the story itself is clever and entertaining. Did I mention that it's hilarious? The main female character cracks me up. I 1000% reccomend this book. It is long but over way too soon. I can't wait to hear the 2nd book :) Thank you RD!

Good book but too long. This was a slow burn romance with lots of adventure and an excellent plot. The characters were on a quest so that kept my interest. However it was too long. As an audiobook there was too much inner monolog angst with the FC and it feels like she could have cut 3 hours out of this and lost none of the plot. I'll go on to the second book, cautiously.

I legit love Ruby Dixon. Ice Planet Barbarians is both the best thing ever, and the worst, but in a good way. This book exceeded my expectations and desires for a delish slice of goofy, romantic cheese.
