Alkaline water claims to “neutralize” and “balance” your body, but your body doesn’t need to be neutralized or balanced - at least not with this! These are buzzwords to make it sound like the water is making a bigger impact than it does.

Charcoal water is said to balance the pH in your stomach, but we need our stomachs to be acidic to help digest our food and fight bacteria. Charcoal water is sometimes used for overdose patients in hospitals.

Our body does need electrolytes, but the only time you need to focus on increasing your electrolyte intake is if you are suffering from severe dehydration or are struggling to keep liquids down, in which case you should probably head to urgent care or the hospital.
