In this episode, I’m going to share the top 10 things I’ve run into with clients that have kept them from losing weight. From gimmicky diet culture fads to skipping the very basics of nutrition, there are so many things that can get in the way of you making progress towards your weight loss goals. I’ll share the most common ones and how to prevent falling into these traps in the future!
Three key takeaways from my top 10 list are:

Don’t skip the basics! There are lots of diet culture-y gimmicks out there (remember when everyone was drinking like a gallon of celery juice a day?), and they can make it hard to remember the basics: eat your fruits and vegetables, drink water, and exercise.
Remember that weight loss takes time. It’s really easy to fall down a rabbit hole of “I lost 50 pounds in 5 months” videos on YouTube, but losing weight that quickly usually isn’t sustainable and can actually cause damage to your metabolism and body composition. Slow and steady really does win the race.
Stop being afraid of eating out! Going out to eat is an inevitable and FUN part of life! Aim to get in two servings of produce and some protein in your meal out and you won’t derail your goals. Also remember one night out does not mean the end of your progress!
