With the unique background of being a certified Master Chef and a Culinary Olympic champion with an Ivy League doctoral degree, he is the first alumnus and faculty member to rise through the CIA to become president. He has been named one of the 50 most powerful people in food by Nation's Restaurant News among many other accolades.
