Description

The plaintiff rented a basement apartment from the defendant and noticed some of her belongings were moved around. The plaintiff installed video cameras to get to the bottom of it. Through her investigation, the plaintiff claims she caught the landlord stealing and rummaging through her things, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant insists she was only down there because the plaintiff was a slob, and she’s countersuing for rent owed.
The plaintiff hired and paid the defendant to videotape his daughter’s wedding, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the plaintiff had to reschedule. The plaintiff claims the defendant tried to raise the price for the rescheduled date, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant alleges he has every right to raise his rates based off cost-of-living increases, and he denies owing anything. The defendant is countersuing for the balance due on his contract.
