“Perfectionism refers to a set of self-defeating thoughts and behaviors aimed at reaching excessively high unrealistic goals. Perfectionism is often mistakenly seen in our society as desirable or even necessary for success. However, recent studies have shown that perfectionistic attitudes actually interfere with success. The desire to be perfect can rob you of a sense of personal satisfaction."These perfectionistic tendencies have started to bleed into the health and wellness spaces and most definitely into our plant-based and vegan communities. I have been the victim of some of these unrealistic expectations so I wanted to take the opportunity to reach out to our listeners and give them my perspective.
