Description

Krystle Zuniga, PhD, RD, is a registered dietitian in UT Health Austin’s Dermatology Clinic, UT Health Austin’s Endocrinology Clinic, UT Health Austin’s Infectious Disease Clinic, UT Health Austin’s Livestrong Cancer Institutes, UT Health Austin’s Primary Care Clinic, and UT Health Austin’s Rheumatology Clinic. She is also a part of UT Health Austin’s Integrated Behavioral Health care team, UT Health Austin’s Hereditary Cancer Screening and Risk Reduction care team, and UT Health Austin’s CaLM Care Team. She specializes in using evidence-based nutrition to develop individualized nutrition care plans that help patients meet their personal health goals, optimize clinical outcomes, and improve quality of life. Additionally, Dr. Zuniga is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Oncology. Dr. Zuniga earned her doctorate in nutritional sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also completed a dietetic internship. She is a Level 2 Clinical Cancer Exercise Specialist. Dr. Zuniga previously served as an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Texas State University. As a translational nutrition scientist, she conducts basic, clinical, and epidemiological research to understand how nutrition and physical activity may promote physical and cognitive health in cancer survivors and older adults.
