Description

Welcome to the episode where I talk about the lesson that took me the longest to learn and the longest time to implement. And then once I did, it was the easiest thing to maintain the thing I should have done 10 years ago. And I'm so grateful I have now and now I have to recommend it to everybody and make it a non-negotiable because it is, it is one of the easiest clearest and simplistic ways to guarantee your success.  And I don't even think I'm like thinking about why I'm recording the intro of this one. And I think I'm going to do something along the lines of would you ever willingly get in a car moving 85 miles an hour down a highway in traffic both ways and agree to drive it for five miles with a blindfold? The answer is probably not. And I think that's what I'm going to say in the intro. I think so, because that's what today's episode is about. And it's about how to cast a clear vision for your company and sometimes even in your life. And one parallel here in the world of like personal development and I've done a lot of personal development work, personal development books, trainings, taught it coached it, all of those different things. And one big idea. And it's really actually not a big idea. It's a big distinction that comes up is that there are no compartments,. Like as humans, we tend to think. And, and I did this as well, and I still do this. And I'm accountable to, and I worked through it, but we tend to think like well, you know, I'm really motivated at the gym. And I do it really, really well. And then I'm really, really motivated in my life and my personal life. But then at work, like I'm really, really not motivated. And the truth is is that like there isn't a compartment. Like you can't be motivated and in work and not motivated at the gym or vice versa. We might think we are, but like foundationally underneath it is that we have a base.Like we have a base as a human. We have a base of our training, our practice, our mindset, our energy, our intentionality, our focus. We have a base that we, we operate from and we constantly every day train that base. It's like when you go to the gym for 10 years straight, you, you ever different base of muscle than somebody who hasn't gone before. And when you think about life and your. Constantly introspective and working on yourself and learning and growing and iterating, you develop a very strong base of those habits in your come from both consciously and subconsciously. And that base is where we operate from. That's our default, when everything else is stripped away, when, when all the noise has gone and everything like that is our base. And so a lot of times you'll hear me talk about life or business. And I mean them interchangeably because. If you practice it in business, it's going to positively impact your life. If you practice it in life, it's going to positively impact your business. And so, you know, a lot of it just comes from being very intentional and aware of how we show up and how we operate. And like, I'll give you an example. Like I struggle a lot sometimes, and I'm not like in this creative zone or in this feeling when I don't honor my daily practice, I get into this like rut of like trying to get going for the day or into momentum for the day.And then. I'll be like, Oh, it's really, really easy. Like, I'll go to the gym. And then I go to the gym and it's funny. I noticed too, like I get there and it's like the first 30 minutes, like I'm "motivated", even though motivation is just having a clear goal and determination to get there agnostic of feelings, but I'm like motivated, but like I'm struggling and I'm sluggish. And then like, I kind of get warmed up and then like right in the middle, I kind of hit the sweet spot like go. And I've understood now about myself, that when I go to run a race or when I go to start a project or when I go to do work out or when I go, eh, To an event or agree to an outing or any of those things that I need a prep period. I need
