Quin

Her ears pricked when she heard the mention of Adrian’s name. It’s been almost two months without the slightest knowledge of what happened to him. Courtney held the door wide enough, and Quin could see Adrian’s familiar face from where she sat.

Can I come in? he asked. His voice sounded a bit foreign.

Courtney was looking at everyone else, waiting for their response, but like Quin, they were all busy searching the face of the young man who used to be on their side of the game.

Guys? Courtney waved.

What are you here for? That’d determine if we let you in or not. Quin offered a response.

I agree. Evelyn said. Bill repeated it as well, and the rest of the people in the room did the same.

If you’ll be kind enough to let me sit. Adrian said, making a weird gesture with his hands. He was pointing to a button on his shirt, and pulling up his sleeves.

Quin frowned. She turned to Maraji, and watched the expression on her face as she focused on the message Adrian was giving. Quin checked out the faces of the others in the room, to make sure she wasn’t the only one who was confused.

Will and the ladies had a quizzical look on their faces, but Bill seemed to be getting the hang of something. Quin returned to Maraji. She wore the same knowing look as Bill.

What? We are just going to let him in? Evelyn was up on her feet, and although Quin has missed the violence she is used to, she didn’t want Evelyn’s; too dull.
